Are any of you planning to boycott GM (AKA ObamaMotors)
« on: April 05, 2009, 09:04:17 PM »
I'm just wondering how you all feel about GM now that it is under the reins of Obama/Geitner and Company.

Would you refuse to buy from them as a protest against socialism, even if you knew that you would get a tax break from buying GM/Chrysler?

No, I would not boycott them. It's true that the shvartza muslim is now running things there but it will only hurt the USA if GM fails. I know some people on here will disagree with me but thats my opinion. I recently convinced someone to lease a GM product when they were planning to purchase a japanese car. I am happy I did that. I would rather keep the profits inside the USA then send it over to japan or somewhere else.

Why doesn't Obama fire the union leader as well? They failed miserably and are really the true cause of American car companies failing.

We all know the answer to that.   If OBama has his way... ALL of GM's executives will NEW be union members.  (BTW... Obama already said he IS going to be involved in picking its NEW leadership.

Ford is a great option too. I wish more people would buy fords instead of hondas. The problem with honda and other foreign cars, is that although they are made in the USA, the company itself is foreign owned and all the profits go overseas. Many times, the govts of these countries actually own the car companies. I know the japanese govt owns a huge chunk of nissan and prob others as well.

Are you sure?  I know that Japan used to own companies... but it has since abandon that practice... I think.

You are right.... Buying Ford is DEFINITELY the more patriotic option.. and its better to REWARD Ford for NOT taking money from Obama's bailouts.

I will definitely boycott GM because of it.  Also I don't even like American cars.  I prefer Japanese.

Yes, I dont think theres a member here who doesnt know that Henry was an evil anti-Semite.  That being said... their current leadership is very heroic in my mind, by not taking the government's handouts as a lure to socialism.

I agree. Right now, a person is helping America when he purchases a ford so I think thats a great thing. I wouldn't hold it against GM for taking the bailout money. They had no choice but to do so. Ford was doing better with their overseas vehicle sales so they didn't need th money. I wish GM had better management and planning so they wouldn't of gotten themselves into this mess.

You are right that Ford is in a better financial position BUT!!!! GM should have pushed for Bankruptcy, NOT a bailout.   The stock was already battered down to a trivial value, and if they had gone through bankruptcy, the union's would have lost MUCH of their control... allowing GM to at least be in a better position to compete.  Obama said that a bailout needed to be done, because bankruptcy woulda taken too long, but that was a lie.

But irregardless, the big picture is that because of GM's lack of foresight, they have given the government the authority it needs to do unprecedented things that will affect us all.

I love my Ford Mustang GT... I have had mustangs for almost 10 years now and I they have required very little service. I am aware of Fords evil antisemitic founder but I think it is great that we are alive and he is dead, along with his jew-hating friends the nazis.

I don't need to boycott GM because of Obama and the bailout.  I boycotted them years ago after I bought one of their lemons which wound up in the shop 6 times in less than 2 years, could never be properly fixed and then had them offer to extend my warranty instead of taking it back and replacing it.

I am not boycotting them - I would not drive a GM product if given free to me. I only drive German and may consider an Italian brand.

Buy American the job you save may be your own!! I would buy a Ford or GM tomorrow and be very proud of my purchase. What I do boycott are the foreign brands. Dollar for dollar the Fords and Chevy's put the foreign cars to shame. The filthy foreign interlopers have taken advantage of unfair subsidies and operate in right to work states where they pay people crap. They are suppressing the wage structure in the industry. If people think that this is not going to filter down into other segments of industry think again. The shvartza president was mumbling something last week about setting wages. I hope everyone can live on a bowl of rice and some old fish heads because that's where we are headed. G-d bless the workers at Ford, GM and Chrysler they are making fine products under some very rough conditions.
