I can't believe the vitriol and hatred which the Miss USA pageant is expressing toward Miss CA who was the 1st runner up in the Miss USA contest. Simply because she stated that she believes that marriage is between a man and a woman, which I also strongly support, she is being ostracized and threatened with losing her title.

They are treating her abominably and I see this as the fist shot against those who stand firm against the abomination of homosexuality. Although the sin itself is not the issue, the teaching that it is normal and an acceptable 'lifestyle' is sick and definitely perverted. People with moral fibre must stand firm against the freaks and perverts in society who are attempting to seduce the young and instill in them sickness and death. It will be a glorious day when all the homosexuals either repair their spirits or are removed from the face of this world and destroyed.

Yes, it's terrible.
This woman has been bashed on to no end, for saying and standing by her convictions that she is against same sex marriage.

Last time that I checked, we live in a democracy and are entitled to exercise our free speech inclusive of our opinions.
But, this latest display of attack on Miss California seems to indicate differently.

It seems that presently, anything goes.
We are not allowed to call terrorists terrorists, we can not say anything about black people because we will be labeled as racists, we have to accept same sex marriage or we are labeled as bigots, and the list goes on and on.

Our society has moved so far to the left that it can not even be found.

There's nothing wrong with modeling underwear as long as you don't engage in immoral activities. Underwear companies need to be able to sell their products. I mean it's not like she was naked in the photo shoots, or doing pornography. She was modeling clothing.

Isn't this a matter of free speech? Why bashing a person for conservative thoughts? When others do not share her opinion they may listen to her and disagree, but bashing other people for their opinions is also non-democratic!
Saying that marriage is between man and woman and not same sex is just as normal as saying the sun rises in the East!

I don't get why there is such a hype about it. She didn't call for violence, discrimination or anything else...
The only thing I find remarkable is that women who participate in flesh watching contests ( what these contests really ARE ) want to be so moral. She right on the same level with same-sex marriage, sorry...

Hyades, being a model is her job, so looks are important. Winning a contest like that could have done a lot for her career. It's not like these are porn shows.

I agree with you on a secular American level... But from a Jewish view of modesty there is no difference between a beauty contest with bikinis and a stripping prostitute. While on the surface it seems that the prostitute is worse, in fact the immodest woman may bring more people to sin than the outright whore.

I don't condemn the women but I have little interest in who is the prettiest contestant. Physical beauty is like a fleeting thought, it is vanity and will not last.

Humans as being animals seek to find someone "genetically superior" to have genetically superior offspring. Looks are one of thsoe things. However, we humans also have a soul so we need to look beyond just physical beauty. To seek beauty alone is wrong. To have beauty has a criteria along with a good soul shoudl be the way it shoudl be.

When I was younger I felt invincible... But once we reach 30-40 years old we realize that what we had in our younger days is not forever. I suggest, from my experience, to find a mate who is not only physically attractive but also has a soul which is beautiful. My observation is that those who are in relationships only because of physical attractiveness will lose interest when the beauty fades.

I disagree because if you had a high fashion clothing brand you would want models to model the clothing. Modeling is not immodest, it's showcasing the clothing on attractive people, not pimping out the models.

The beauty contests are about the beauty of the models, but I don't really have a problem with these because they're not stripping down or being raunchy.

This is right from her point of view. But don't forget that I stated her pretending to be moral. I can either be moral and represent moral ways or I do as if I had morals and show my flesh to millions of people to drool at me. I do not criticize her for doing that but for being a hypocrit. If a good modest girl talks about sexual moral, she convinces bcause she represents what she says. But a bikini model talking about morals is as false as trying to let an atheist being a missionary. It won't convince anyone, since he isn't religious so who would take it serious? This is doing more harm than it helps. I would not have a Nazi's support on islamization issues either - although he and I would probably (only superfiacially seen) have the same opinion that this is a threat to Europe, the basic morals are from two different worlds...

being a hipocrit in this situation would be saying one is against homosexuality and yet practice homosexuality non begrudgingly. She does not claim to be moral just because she is against same sex marraige...only in this department she has that opinion.

So now, who wins the Miss USA beauty pageant depends upon how a contestant answers a question on gay marriage. If a gay judge doesn't like your answer to his question he will vote you down and publicly label you a "dumb [censored]." Carrie Prejean, Miss California, was ahead in points before being ambushed in the final round by a homosexual judge with an agenda.
