A post by a liberal Jew from another forum:
"Golly . . . I realize that there are folk in the good ol' US o' A that are too young to remember what diplomacy looks and sounds like . . . OR have spent too much ingesting the polarized opinions of the FOX Opinion-cast Network . . . But . . . I realize that diplomacy as enacted the present State Department, as lead by the current Administration, is marked by indifference to the point of absurdity and has been largely reduce to issuing edicts and other cowboy/vigilante style antics (enter McCain sining Bomb Iran to Barbara Ann). I appoligize but that is not the way it is SUPPOSED to be.
Diplomacy is the art of turning ones enemies into associates through communication and respect AND retaining one's friends through . . . Wait for it . . . communication and respect. Speaking about respect:
MEN AND WOMEN cover their heads in Muslim countries just like a fair number of us do when we walk into a Synagouge. Are we being freaks? Check this short-sighted rhetoric at the door. Examine the facts and not the right-wingnut sound bites. Syrian saber-rattling dropped off a bit after Pelosi's visit. BTW Pelosi went with a full complement of Democrats and REBUPLICANS. this was a bipartisian trip. While your brian might explode by the thought of both major parties actually working together . . . They were. Additionally, Israelis asked for help. Rice and Bush turned their backs on the Israeli requests. Pelosi stepped up to the plate.
If your are embarassed by a elected offical actually being effective, please by all means continue your rant. If you interested in the truth, I can offer web-sites and news articles that discuss the facts. The choice is yours."
Is it pointless to tell the person that there's no such thing as peach with terrorists? That he is wrong and Israel has no intention of having any dialogue with Syria, especially after the war with Hezbollah? And that the web-sites and news articles that the liberal will promote are those that are funded by George Soros?
And he must think that Jimmy Carter's diplomacy with Iran was a great success?
Should I reply back to the ignorance?
