On the Hannity&Colmes show Monday night, they had three guests discuss the issue: a Black comedian, a Black professor from Temple University and another Black guy (I forget what he does).
The Black comedian says that it wasn't meant at an insult. If Imus intended to insult the team, he would he said something else and the comedian gave specific examples (I don't remember them though). The Black comedian says that he has the right to use the phrase "nappy headed hos" and so do non-Black people. He doesn't like it how some people try to censor speech and try to prevent him from using the term "[censored]." He said that these terms don't represent the same things that they did during the early couple decades of the 20th century and that Black people like Sharpton should stop acting like they do.
The professor from Temple University used the same type of rhetoric as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson without acknowledging any type of hypocrisy or double standards that they often use.
The third guy, although he was against the Imus comments (like the guy from Temple was), he said the professor (as well as Sharpton and Jackson) are being engaging in hypocrisy and double standards.
