Carter says Wilson's comments 'based on racism'
By GREG BLUESTEIN (AP) – 58 minutes ago

ATLANTA — Former President Jimmy Carter says Congressman Joe Wilson's outburst to President Barack Obama last week was an act "based on racism." Carter called Wilson's comment "dastardly" and part of an "inherent feeling" held by some in this country who feel that a black man should not be president.

The South Carolina Republican lawmaker was formally rebuked Tuesday in a House vote divided by party lines. Wilson shouted "You lie!" during Obama's speech to Congress last Wednesday.

Carter spoke Tuesday night at a town hall held at his presidential center in Atlanta.

A spokesman for Wilson was not immediately available for comment.

But a former leader of the South Carolina Democratic party disagreed with Carter. Dick Harpootlian says Wilson's comment was asinine, but not racist.

I feel sad that he decided to make his life so evil. He's so much like Ted Kennedy in that way. If he had decided to be righteous, he could have done a lot of good, with all the power G-d allowed him to have. However, he chose and still chooses evil.

My soon to be ex-wife's grandmother was the head of the Democratic Party in a rural town in Southwest Virginia for many, many years. She knew Jimmy Carter and even got him to make some visit the area on occasion. My father in law worships the ground Carter walks on, and one time we got into a big argument about Carter, and let's just say we didn't speak for months. Too bad the rest of family where Republicans.

Jimmy Carter and Barack Hussein Obama have many similiarities in terms of the direction they want the United States to go in and that they want Israel destroyed. As hideous as Jimmy Carter is, Barack Hussein Obama is even more dangerous. This goes beyond the fact that BHO is currently occupying the oval office. Carter is more overt with his agenda than Obama is. As a Muslim, BHO continually uses deception.

Barack Hussein Obama is now trying to distance himself from Jimmy Carter from a public perception standpoint. Many foolishly voted for Obama because they thought he was different than the likes of Jeremiah Wright, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton. With most of the media a puppet to BHO, they likely will attempt to paint Obama in a good light, with Carter being content to be the fall guy in order to help Obama's public perception.

Where did the trillion dollars come from that was "raised" during his campaign. There is a power behind this man.
