the migrant worker myth -- outright LIE really...
« on: April 17, 2007, 06:05:05 PM »
I don't know if anyone remembers this -- but one of the major news networks did a story about a pear farmer in CA that complained that their pears were dying and not being picked b/c the borders were allegedly closed and not letting the migrant workers back in [ http://internetservices.readingeagle.com/blog/editorials/archives/2006/09/congress_must_p.html ] one of the articles about it

I read an article today that angered me b/c I think it shows the REAL reason that we are losing the migrant workers -- they want more $$! [ http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/17/business/17construct.html?ei=5090&en=1da5de5a86bb0e09&ex=1334462400&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss&pagewanted=print ]

What a bunch of greedy traitors those farmers are.  I hope that they all get financially ruined.

In thy power Almighty, trusting,
Did our fathers build of old;
Strengthen then, O Lord, their children
To defend, to love, to hold
That the heritage they gave us
For our children yet may be:
Bondsmen only to the Highest
And before the whole world free.
As our fathers trusted humbly,
Teach us, Lord, to trust Thee still:
Guard our land and guide our people
In Thy way to do Thy will.
