Un-f**king believable. I can promise you that if a white man had raped a black woman and bashed her face in with a baseball bat and left her to die, that he'd get the death penalty. I can also promise you that a Jew who shot dead a terrorist imam from CAIR would have gotten the death penalty too, and Dr. Baruch Goldstein would have been had he survived.

May all of these jurors and their families (if they agree with it) receive what this monster did to Anne Pressly.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A jury sentenced a man convicted in the beating death of a popular Arkansas television personality to life in prison Thursday, sparing him the death penalty after hearing testimony about his rocky upbringing by an abusive, drug-addicted mother.
Jurors deliberated less than three hours before recommending that Curtis Lavelle Vance, 29, be sentenced to life in prison without parole for the death of Anne Pressly. The jury also handed down a life sentence for rape, 20 years for burglary and 10 years for theft.
Pressly, 26, was an anchor on KATV's "Daybreak" program and had a bit part in the President George W. Bush biopic "W." Pressly died Oct. 25, 2008, five days after a brutal assault that crushed her face and left her gasping for air.
Under state law, jurors had to select either the death penalty or a life sentence.
Vance's mother testified Thursday that she was an abusive mother, and a doctor said Vance showed signs of paranoia. Pressly's mother, Patti Cannady, told jurors Wednesday what it was like to lose an only child.
After the verdict was read, Cannady mouthed "It's OK" to prosecutor Larry Jegley, nodded, and tucked her hands over her heart. But as she left the courtroom, Cannady stopped and turned at the door. She leaned toward the defense attorneys and said, "You protected someone who should have never been protected."
Vance showed no emotion as the verdict was read.
Earlier Thursday, Vance's mother, Jacqueline Vance Burnett, told jurors she was an abusive mother who had a number of crack-fueled run-ins with the law.
Burnett said she worked as a prostitute to earn money for drugs and once snapped after a "date" fell through. She said Vance had been left in charge of a younger brother and that when she returned, the brother was smearing feces on a wall. Burnett said she threw Vance into a brick wall several times until he nearly passed out.
She also told jurors she would buy drugs with money her children received from Social Security after their fathers died and that she had spent time in prison for burglary, forgery and theft. Vance's mother said she has since gone through rehab.
During sentencing, defense attorneys presented a list of mitigating factors — including abuse Vance suffered as a child — as a reason not to impose the death penalty.
"Do I like it? No," Jegley said after the sentence was read. "But they can consider all of them. That's the law."

Life in prison without parole is chosen for Anne Pressly's murderer

Curtis Vance gets life in prison without parole for the murder of KATV anchor Anne Pressly.

During a press conference with Pressly's family and the Pulaski County prosecutor, Guy Cannady said, "There are really no winners tonight." Also during Cannady's remarks he complimented the defense saying Vance probably had the best defense team in the country but when the facts were laid out it just didn't stack up.

Under state law, the options were life in prison or the death penalty.

The jury convicted Vance of capital murder, rape, burglary and theft Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday, the jurors listened to nearly a full days worth of defense testimony trying to spare Vance's life.

The defense team called Vance's girlfriend and mother of his three children and two of his siblings to the stand. All three told jurors how Vance plays an important role in their lives.

Shaniqua Cooper and Curtis Vance have three children together. Thursday she told jurors how he helped change diapers and spoiled them. Cooper broke down as she said “You're not killing him, you're killing me”.

Then jurors heard from Vance's 21-year-old brother. He told them about how their mother whipped them as boys and how Vance tried to make her stop. Barron Montgomery said Vance is the only father figure he has.

The final witness was 19-year-old Leveon Vance who grew up with a different family in Memphis. She testified how her older brother encouraged her to graduate and told her she had a chance he didn't have.

During closing arguments Larry Jegley told jurors he wouldn't show them the graphic pictures again of Anne Pressly but asked how can they forget them?

The defense said “If putting Curtis Vance to death would bring Anne Pressly back, who would tell you no? but it won't”.

In Jegley’s rebuttal he said, despite his tough life, Vance made choices and should pay for them.
