To be honest I would of loved to see the lion maul these morons, but obviously one lion against 4 or 5 hunters with guns is unmatched.  I still find this a stupid activity.

There is just something particularly obscene about travelling half across the world to a country which they barely understand to kill magnificent animals that have done no harm to anyone. A bit further and they could have got to Afghanistan and done something useful, but there I guess the odds are a bit too even for our brave hunters.

Sometimes the lion populations outnumber the prey and the hunt them for culling purposes.  However, I find no joy in hunting a lion and killing it.  Its an amazing beast to see, I have seen some African lions in the wild and its truly a sight to behold.   However, in some areas lions are overpopulated and killing the livestock and they have to thin out them.  This is a result of the destruction of the natural ecosystem, where large sets of natural predators were there to keep other populations in check. 

The worst form of destruction is poaching, they ought to hang every poacher as they have caused so much destruction to our environment and wildlife.
