True.
Parents were visited by their children one day each week.
This resulted in lots of stupid & confused children.
On the other hand, with some of those parents there on the kibbutzim, it might have been a good thing not to let their children be raised by them!

The theory was to produce something akin to what the Soviets termed "New Soviet Man"...a newly created human being, loyal first and foremost to the state and the system; ingrained with values of selflessness, communal society, and group welfare. The parents of such a person were simply the biological entities which reproduced.
All too many such children left the kibbutz for "life in the big city" the very first chance they got.
