English Defence League launch Jewish Division

The EDL has established a Jewish Division for ‘Jewish supporters of the English Defence League, and supporters of Jewish people everywhere’.  Jewish people in Israel and in the broad Diaspora are key supporters of the counter jihad movement and play a significant role in the global effort.  Jewish people are often particular victims of Islamic fundamentalism.  The Jews have contributed a great deal to the development of England, its culture, its economy, and its scientific achievements.  They have great pride in being English as well as Jewish and they have had a home in English Defence League since it was founded.
Islamic anti-Semitism is a serious problem and one that needs to be tackled.  The English Defence League seems to be the only organisation which is willing to do this.  After all, our political leaders are too busy pandering to and appeasing Islam to worry about other minorities in the country.  We saw recently how the Con-Dem government was eager to condemn democratic Israel for stopping blockade breaking vessels bound for Islamist Hamas controlled Gaza.  When our own government puts the interests of terrorists before the interests of our democratic allies we know we have a serious problem at the top of British society.

The EDL is the home of a diverse range of political activists from a range of social backgrounds and ethnicities.  Groups like the EDL Jewish Division are at the forefront of its resistance efforts against the emerging sharia state.

EDL, or at least large sections of participants in their rallies and events, are racist yobs who just as well could direct their hatred towards Jews. The fact that they direct their hatred towards muslims and of strategical reasons enlist small groups of uncritical blacks, Jews, Hindus and Sikhs, does not remove the fact that they are racist scum no different than the National Front. As for your Kahanist JDL USA friends whom EDL reached out to as early as September 2009, they are a proscribed terrorist group in both USA and Israel, so EDL's involvement with them leaves EDL wide open to just claims that EDL associates with a known terrorist group that has been proscribed in ISRAEL, rendering all EDL claims that EDL supports Israel invalid.

EDL now supports some real hardline religious wingnuts who support a single-state, continuation of settlement building and this is contradiction to the recent motion at the Zionist Congress, who voted for a two-state solution and a full settlement-building freeze.

EDL willingly sought out and linked itself to hardline religious right-wing extremists. The same type of extremists that EDL leaders say they're against.
This renders the claim that EDL are against extremists invalid.

Other important issues beside the issue of EDL cosying up to rightwing religious extremists and a proscribed terrorist organisation are the blatent lie that EDL is a single-issue organisation.

It is most defnitely not a single-issue organisation, and we should discuss the EDL's claim to be a single-issue group as openly as possible, so that EDL members can read what we write.
