Both are three days per week, but, is Mon- Thurs, Sun, spread too far apart? I just lift moderate weights, just to keep in shape.

That why its good to alternate muscle groups.
When I used to workout I did all musclegroups in 2 days 3 times a week, but that was a long time ago.I'd go for the mon-wed-fri schedule.
