It was terrible. It took me 2 hours to drive 5 miles and that was on the street. I missed out on the rain and the heavy winds. Every other block I saw trees were all on the floor.

Nassau County Long Island was also hit by it.  Our electricity was out for a while.

Dude you are funny.. lol.... Yea Bayside and Flushing got ripped pretty bad.. I was driving on Northern Blvd and so many trees were uprooted over cars and a lot of down power lines

Isn't it most unusual for Queens to have a tornado?

It seems as if climactic conditions we associate with the usual  "tornado belt" of TX, the mid-West, deep South have now moved north of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Maybe that movie is coming true now, with the ocean pouring across the Himalayas and NY City becoming a frozen flooded ice cube.

Or maybe HAARP did it.

You may have a point because things are just not right the past few years...shvartza President in the White House, strange weather and earthquakes, things are just not right.... I don't believe in dates like that normally but 2012 seems to have potential.

I think New York City itself has a few more good years before all that happens  ... Out here on Long Island have had quite a few of the little tornado's over the years... They touch down for a few blocks and cause a real mess up rooting trees and ripping branches off... Thankfully they don't seem to have enough force to directly damage the homes and structures much... Most of the problem comes in when a tree or some other object comes crashing down... Eastern Long Island has been very lucky this year... Most of the heavy storms that hit the "City" and Nassau County have not come out here.

That's because Long Island doesn't have many trailer parks. It's a well known fact that tornadoes seek out and destroy mobile homes in trailer parks. It's one of those strange, unexplainable weather phenomenons.
