This is very disappointing news. We really need to bring more Jews back into the Jewish fold. How can we do this? This is a question which must be answered soon..
Teach pride in being Jewish [Hadar Yisroel!]. To the point of being chauvinistic! In "Never Again", Rabbi Kahane lays out some framework for this [such as telling the stories of glory behind the Irgun, and Stern Group]. Most "rabbis" Jews in America encounter are Leftist wimpo nebishes who worship the Democratic party line and fairytale non-Jewish concoctions of what Tikkun Olam is [when young Jews see this as an example of "what a real Jew is" it is NATURAL to NOT want to be THAT].
With no pride being taugh in being Jewish, what is left?
In America the Jew is the most hated minority [if the FBI list of hate crimes is any indication].
"So not only does being a Jew, like my Deform "rabbi", look lame... but people want to beat me up and kill me over it?!? Surely I can find better things to do with my life than this!"
What does a Jew do when he is targeted? Preach about tolerance, understanding, and multiculturalism. Bah! A man targeted me this past year and I taught him an unforgettable lesson in Krav Maga. - I was miserable about having to use violence and it was horrifying. But I am damn proud that an antisemite got reduced to a heaping, crying, bleeding pile of shame in about 30 seconds [after he woke up from being KO'ed]. Barzel Yisrael! It goes hand in hand with Hadar Yisrael.
It is not always the fault of the person who leaves the fold. The blame
may rest with their parents, or their parents parents, for starting the trend of shame and cluelessness regarding being Jewish [what an unJewish experience to be born a sabra and then to emigrate to the Galut! with parents like this, is it any mystery?]. If a child is not brought up understanding the Torah is the word of G-d, why should they care about marrying another Jew? Because some "old wise men" [as opposed to G-d] said so over 3 thousand years ago? To insist on remaining Jewish [by marrying another Jew] w/o belief in G-d's Torah is pretty similar to bigotry.
