Mysterious murder of well known religious personality in Haifa: A 67-year-old man was shot Sunday night and critically injured at the entrance to his home on Sinai Street in the Carmel neighborhood of Haifa. His death was pronounced a short time after the incident.

The man, a leading religious figure in Haifa was shot several times. The background for the shooting remains unknown.

Magen David Adom teams arrived at the scene of the shooting where they immediately began to administer CPR. "We found an adult man lying on the floor suffering from a number of bullet wounds in the upper half of his body," a paramedic told Ynet. "We administered CPR for nearly 40 minutes but eventually, the doctor called the time of death."

Haifa's religious community was in shock when news of the murder was revealed. People who worked with the victim refused to believe the news and couldn't imagine why he would be murdered. And yet, this isn't the first time the murder victim was attacked. A few years ago anonymous perpetrators threw acid at the man.

A large number of Police forces were present at the scene, including regional police commander Shimon Koren. The police have yet to arrest any suspects.

Can you imagine the uproar by the Israeli Govt if a leading Leftist traitor pig had been killed like Mr. or Rabbi Binyamin Hesse?

The slaying of Binyamin Hesse, 67, sent shock waves throughout the Orthodox community; Hesse had been attacked with acid in the past.

The chairman of the Hevra Kadisha burial service in Haifa, Binyamin Hesse, was shot dead at the entrance to his apartment building on Sunday night, in a slaying that sent shock waves throughout the Orthodox community and beyond.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said Hesse's killer ambushed him on his street on Rehov Sinai in Haifa, opening fire and striking him multiple times.

Hesse was critically wounded by several gunshot wounds, and had lost vital life signs by the time Magen David Adom paramedics arrived and began resuscitating him, Rosenfeld added.

He was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Large numbers of police arrived on the murder scene, and a homicide investigation was launched. It is being led by the Northern district's Central Unit.

A Northern district police spokesman added, "All directions are being checked. This is only the beginning of the investigation."

In 2004, Hesse was the victim of an acid attack. In that attack too, an unidentified attacker or attackers waited outside his home, before throwing acid in his face. Hesse was lightly wounded in that attack.
