Wrong-Way Driver Crash Kills Two

http://www.presstelegram.com/rss/ci_17136529?source=rss

Yet another animal that will receive a slap on the wrist for murder, while Jonathan Pollard rots on federal death row for something that was 100% legal according to international treaty. Don't you just love America? (No, the article does not state the killer's race, but South Gate is a virtually 100% Latino suburb of Los Angeles and the police were withholding his identity [I wonder why]).

ANAHEIM - A man and a woman died today when a Mercedes-Benz going the wrong way on the eastbound Riverside (91) Freeway in Anaheim collided with their Toyota SUV, the California Highway Patrol reported.

A 1996 Mercedes C220 sedan was going westbound in the eastbound carpool lane at 12:47 a.m. when it collided with a 2006 Toyota Scion SUV just east of Harbor Boulevard, the CHP reported.

The driver of the Scion, a 26-year-old Diamond Bar man, was ejected and died at the scene, the CHP reported. A passenger in the Scion, a 24-year-old Long Beach woman, also died at the scene. Their names were withheld, pending notification of their relatives.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 21-year-old South Gate man, suffered "major" injuries, and he was in custody and being treated at UCI Medical Center, Quesada said. His name was not immediately released.

According to the CHP, authorities received reports from several witnesses that the Mercedes was going the wrong way on the carpool lane lane "at an unknown high rate of speed" before the crash.
