You know what's mentally retarded?

Lobbying politicians to enact laws and supporting policies that increase the wages of union employees by 5% without having the mental capacity to understand that the same laws and policies will raise consumer costs of goods and services by 5%, basically resulting in a net of 0, and then celebrating the supposed increased standard of living of your members because of their higher wages.

The sad fact is that it's the legacy costs that are killing  tax payers more then the high salaries . Most municipal jobs are 20 or 25 years and out on 1/2 or 3/4 pay plus lifetime medical benefits for free... Some of the workers are set to collect for 40 or 50 years after they get off the job.... Its actually better then hitting the 1g  a week for life scratch off.
