We didn't see any cases of looting or rioting in Japan, right away they are ready to pick up the pieces and see what real help will be needed in the up coming month and year. Haiti is like New Orleans during a disaster filled with savages that don't care if there is a disaster they start rioting like wild animals.

Japan is a modern, civilized advanced First World country with amazing technology. Haiti on the other is a Third World banana republic with very primitive infrastructure. You cannot compare the two countries.

I have a friend who sometimes works in Japan. He often sees people just leave their bicycles by the train station unlocked - no lock. They just don't steal. Stealing is just not a well understood concept there.
Now compare them to da brothaz. They steal TVs because they are hungry.

The landscape of parts of Japan looks like the aftermath of World War Two; no industrialised country since then has suffered such a death toll. The one tiny, tiny consolation is the extent to which it shows how humanity can rally round in times of adversity, with heroic British rescue teams joining colleagues from the US and elsewhere to fly out.

And solidarity seems especially strong in Japan itself. Perhaps even more impressive than Japan’s technological power is its social strength, with supermarkets cutting prices and vending machine owners giving out free drinks as people work together to survive. Most noticeably of all, there has been no looting, and I’m not the only one curious about this.

This is quite unusual among human cultures, and it’s unlikely it would be the case in Britain. During the 2007 floods in the West Country abandoned cars were broken into and free packs of bottled water were stolen. There was looting in Chile after the earthquake last year – so much so that troops were sent in; in New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina saw looting on a shocking scale.

Why do some cultures react to disaster by reverting to everyone for himself, but others – especially the Japanese – display altruism even in adversity?

As much as the left-wing liberal scum would hate to hear it, the truth is that Japan doesn't have a sizeable population of THIRD-WORLD SAVAGES. The same can be said for New Zealand and Australia where earthquakes/floods occurred recently and people stuck together. Wherever third-world savages from evil cultures reside you will see looting and other criminal acts like rape or murder in a time of crisis. Britain is now full of muslim arab and paki vermin, Chile is full of hispanics and New Orleans be full of blacks. God forbid you be a white, asian, indian or other person from a first-world decent culture living as a minority in a predominantly third-world area if a disaster happens. Keep a shotgun ready and blow the bastards away.

I think that after WWII, our government could still identify an ideology as evil or dangerous.  Nowadays, thats a big no no.  We cant identify Communism, or Islam as evil or wrong.  We instead have to understand that maybe OUR ideology is evil to them, etc etc.  After WWII, there was such a thing as De-naziification or De-Imperialization, now, that could NEVER happen.
