HAHA Baltimore I agree!!

Chaim, I've heard you say on multiple occasions that, although the evil the Japs perpetrated during WWII was horrendous as well as undeniable, the Japan of Herahito no longer exist and the people are far removed from such a culture. It seemed your comments on this show contrast sharply with past claims. I think they are different, and deserve pity, but perhaps I'm wrong... One thing's for sure, they deserve pity FAR over any Indo-Mussy-rats!

I started laughing uncontrollably at that one!

OK and on the subject of Japan:
Under their emperor the Japanese were incredibly evil. They blindly followed him as if he was holy. Once he was forced to admit he was just a regular human it destroyed the way people thought of him (losing the war obviously also helped this). With the image of their leader and their way of life destroyed it was easier to modernize and adopt a more modern way of life. The Muslims on the other hand still follow their religion. This keeps them down and not until they are forced to give it up can they modernize.
