http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/145204A 27-year-old Jewish man was yanked out of his car and beaten by an Arab mob Sunday afternoon in a Jerusalem neighborhood, according to police.
The Cellcom employee made a wrong turn and entered the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya. He was moderately wounded as dozens of Arabs hurled rocks at his car, and then pulled him from the vehicle and savagely beat him up.
Other Arabs who live in the same neighborhood rescued the Jew, police said, and protected him until an Israel Police patrol car and Border Police officers arrived.
The victim, reportedly was led to the area accidentally by his GPS navigation device, was treated on the scene by Magen David Adom medics. He was then rushed to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem. He was admitted in fair condition.
Police searched for the perpetrators and launched an investigation of the incident.
This is not the first time that an Israeli driver has made a mistake and entered an Arab area, with life-threatening results.
Nor is it the first time that a GPS (global positioning system) device has sent an unwary driver in Israel astray.
As a result, GPS provider NAVNGO has warned drivers not to follow their GPS devices when traveling in Judea, Samaria and other areas restored to Israel subsequent to the 1949 Armistice lines.
In January, the Jewish rights group, Legal Forum for the Land of Israel called on the IDF to warn Israelis when they approach dangerous PA-controlled areas.
