R’ Aviner: Torat HaMelech ‘intolerable’
Rabbi Shlomo Aviner, rosh yeshiva of Ateret Yerushalayim, says it it isn’t true that the police force has been conspiring against the Right.
“Anyone who wants to lead the nation in a certain direction has to be prepared for the fact that he’ll sometimes encounter difficult situations,” he said on Galei Yisrael radio. “But this, to say we’re persecuted, that’s not how we do things.”
Rabbis Dov Lior and Yaakov Yosef were recently arrested for endorsing the sefer Torat HaMelech, which permits the preemptive killing of a non-Jew by a Jew who feels threatened.
Regarding the rabbis’ arrests, Rabbi Aviner said he thought there could have been better ways to handle the situation.
“Differences of opinion are not resolved through making arrests,” he said. “If they [the police] really wanted to clarify the subject with them, they could have approached them to engage in [serious] conversation.”
As for the book itself, Rabbi Aviner called it “problematic” and criticized it for also permitting the killing of a secular Jew in certain circumstances. “These are things that cannot be tolerated,” he said.
“Even if the things [printed in the book] are correct, [the rabbis were] not correct,” he said. “But even if they had been correct — not everything you think should be said, not everything you say should be written, not everything you write should be publicized.”

It is sounding more and more like this Rabbi has a few marbles loose. I dont say that with any joy because he is still a rabbi but some rabbis do go off the derech and lead others astray. It sounds like this rabbi has lost his moral compass.

And I turned to see wisdom and madness and folly, for what is the man who will come after the king, concerning that which they have already done? And I saw that wisdom has an advantage over folly, as the advantage of light over darkness. The wise man has eyes in its beginning, but the fool goes in the darkness, and I too know that one event happens to them all. "“problematic” and criticized it for also permitting the killing of a secular Jew in certain circumstances. “These are things that cannot be tolerated,” he said."

Of-course. Their are also situations where one can kill even a Shomer Shabb-t Jew. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE CONTEXT. These oppositionists are only starting things for no reason. Actually bringing slander and bad name (needlessly) to the Jewish people by fighting against the book.
