He studied, practiced, studied, practiced and taught (in person and in books). Really you can say he is still teaching- every time someone opens his books, or listens to his shiurim, Od Kahane Chai. Chai Chai Yekayam.

I know. I didn't mean that. I meant you are asking for an exact number like year 19-- till 19--.
 I dont know exactly from that strict number. I suspect it would be written in his Wife's biography book about his life. (Check it there). I have a copy, maybe some time later I might check it. You can always ask Chaim.
