What do you think of this practice?

why not if it has a real medical application. It's just a plant.

I think it should be used by pharmaceutical companies to make medications or given to people who are dying.

My mother, G-d bless her, has MS and just got over cancer and the pain is unbearable. I wish she had something to help her cope and medical marijuana products help MS and cancer patients considerably... but she would never consider it because of it's status.

I am, probably, emotionally attached to this issue.

My issue with Maruijanu is the extremely high rate of irreversible psychosis for longtime users. For example in England where it was semi-legalized there are now tens of thousands of severly insane people under the care of the state becuase marijuana use is so widespread.

Jeffguy, is there nothing else that would be effective in controlling the pain your mother is in?

They had a drug that looked promising but the FDA pulled it a week before it was supposed to be released.

They really don't know enough about MS, why it exists, what it does, or how people get it. There's not much she can do about it. She's tried so many combinations of prescriptions and nothing seems to work to help.

We have much better prescription pain killers than Marijuna so this whole campaign is a store front to legitimize it for everyone.

There is a proven link between marijuana use and schitzophrenia. It's really, really bad for this when used by adolescents. I saw a show on TV with colour medical imaging of adult brains versus adolescent ones. They were so different because of the massive chemical and hormonal changes going on in the latter. Adding dope to the equation is a disaster. If dope hase genuine medical applications, let the FDA do thorough reserch and process it into presciption-only pills.

I'll tell you guys something interesting, there is a prescription drug out there derived from marijuana, it is called Dronabinol so we really have medical marijuana in a way.

B.S.  Those people were going to be schizophrenic anyhow.

Oh, you saw a show on tv, it must be true!

Maybe, but research indicates that dope use increases ones chances of becoming schitzophrenic ten fold. If someone has some latent problem with the potential for phsycosis, dope will just agravate the problem.

I agree with the second sentence, not the first.

THC is an obvious natural painkiller, like morphine, but we do not allow people to just grow opium poppies in their yards and slit the pods and collect the sap. I would not be against deriving an actual, legitimate injectable form of it.

That said, 99% of so-called medicinal weed advocates just want to legally get high. "Doctors" writing weed prescriptions for headaches, asthma (as if inhaling hot, tar-rich burning fumes makes your lungs better!), stress, etc.? What a joke.  ::)

Pot is a benign substance.

If a person eats cannabis, that person gets intoxicated.  If a person eats tobacco, that person DIES!

One substance is poisonous, the other is not.

Now, is SMOKING unhealthy?  Yes.  But not all substances are equal.

No substance that produces intoxication is "benign". Neurotransmitters are poisoned to produce the buzz and artificially release dopamine. Pot has more cancer-causing agents than tobacco. Look at what chewing tobacco does to oral tissues...

These two statements contradict one another, sir.

I asked that you to meet me a long time ago and you chickened out.

WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF?

If you were a REAL supporter of JTF you'd meet me.

Scriabin, I said that tobacco is VERY bad, and pot is worse. If eating tobacco is very bad, can you imagine eating cannabis?

As to your other beef, I never backed out of meeting you, and I couldn't, because we never set a date. I do like you, but if you continue to have hissyfits at me at random, I won't respond to you.

You're a coward.   You make excuses.

I'll meet you anytime.  I don't want to fight, I just want to make sure you're for REAL.
