Santorum to suspend presidential campaign

NBC News has confirmed that Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum will suspend his campaign for the nomination. The announcement, expected shortly at an event in Gettysburg, Pa., follows a recent hospitalization for his 3-year-old daughter who suffers from the chromosomal defect Trisomy 18.

A senior source in the Mitt Romney campaign confirms to NBC News that the front-runner received a call from Santorum today.

Santorum’s decision to suspend his campaign effectively stifles the opposition to Romney from within the GOP; former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Texas Rep. Ron Paul remain active candidates, though neither of them have a plausible path to winning the 1,144 delegates needed to secure the nomination.

The decision comes two weeks before the Pennsylvania presidential primary. Santorum had faced the prospect of an embarrassing loss to Romney that threatened to short-circuit any of his future political aspirations, either statewide or nationally.

Saying anything against Romney at this point is not going to help him win the election so anyone that say anything about Romney is an obama supporter and not interested in America or Israel surviving because under obama they are finished, under Romney we have a chance.

I just read the news. I am not very please but it's not unexpected. Santorum said he'd drop out if there was a chance the he woiuld loose his home state and he is now far behind. I just hope that can beat that racist black muslims nazi who's name I won't say right now. What he is doing to Johnathon Pollard is inhuman only that fact that he is Jewish is he doing this.

The reality is that Santorum was a better choice than Romney.  However, much better to have Romney than Obama.  So of course JTF's position is going to be anti-Obama.

The truth is, as terrible as Romney is, he at least will be held in check for the next four years if he does become president. So certain bad decisions may be avoided...but then again, most politicians are crooked.

We know that with Obama, if he, Gd forbid wins, will not be held accountable for all the terrible decisions who wants to make since he won't have to worry about any reelection campaign. 

So it would be much smarter for all of us to root for Romney and go against Obama.  Santorum was a slightly better choice especially because of his outspoken support for Israel compared to Romney's.

Santorum lost his youth support when he decided to attack porn. For all I could say about the man, when push comes to shove I only preferred him to Romney.

If this comes down to ads about who would make a better president, Moron or Muslim, only liberals will vote, and Utah. Liberals will most assuredly not whisper their master's credentials, although he can still talk about himself being close to black skinned, and get votes.

Romney better not mention the fact that he was born, not that proof of this seems to be needed. If he wants to win, he better get those billions to exposing.

That really what irks me about him, and why I wanted Santorum. He expected, or at least hoped to and wanted to win. Look at Romney during his speeches; if he dosen't care about the race, he dosen't want to win, or is ready to VP Obuma. If, g-d forbid, he were to loose, the billions he's spent would have been less profitable advertising for a company he owns. This campagin was not it's own end with Santorum.

Then there's the tricky part. GWB is going to be brought up as much as as liberally possible, though reality remains that only a great leader could navigate the rocky waterfall the president has salied America into, and few short of the Messiah couldd steer her to calmer waters. My lame-stream media double-think prediction: Since Romney is not a strong enough Candidate to improve the economy after what GWB (but really Obuma) did, we need Obuma to fix it.

Bait and switch for free health care should be anticipated (if you don't vote for the Muslim who wants to destroy your nation again, you won't get "free"(*,1, note, limited, subject to change, etc...) healthcare). Bait is the first campagin, for the slow ones.

So Romney must win. Generations past would have taken the streets if presented with such grevious insult presented as choice. That ******* **** better choose Palin, or someone good.

Gingrich, probably yes. I'm not sure about Santorum though. He seems to at least be more moderate than Romney.
He and his wife could have aborted their daughter but chose not to, that at least tells me he values life to some degree.

The other thing that really bothers me about Romney is that if he is president, the Mormon cult will gain a lot of good PR and will end up recruiting more gullible people and become richer and richer off of 10% of those people's income plus will be promoting their strange sci fi religion where they wear magical square and compass underwear.

That's kind of defeatist, most care about the italian show with snookey and justin beaver more than the future of the country, because they know nothing of the future of the country. You don't win people over by attacking them. I've stated my position on porn, though like I said, the majority of people have been told about more things that are wrong than are right. A lonely fat kid will support you if you show him how to become useful and find a wife, not if you tell him that you're not letting him masturbate to the internet anymore, and he may fight against such things if he were taught the proper life. A meta-physical speculation that is a bit off the ball, but you get the point; the youth need help so they can help others help them, not someone to tell them to stop helping their enemy that they see as their only "friend".

The thing is they have to care about their own future before they care about the future of the country which affects them as individuals. I'd say they should have national pride, but the USA isn't really a nation in the same sense it once was, just a multicultural country. I still would rather be here than anywhere else in the world though even with all its problems.
