1 thing I'm a little confused about is- is today the first day or tomorrow when the new cycle begins?
 
Also technically is it from night to night or day to next day?

 ( I think its tomorrow though)

I am not an expert but from what I have read today, Thursday is the completion of the Talmud cycle and tomorrow starts the next cycle...
