Debate analysis
« on: October 04, 2012, 12:18:51 AM »
ANALYSIS is borrowed - not all opinions are those of britishsword.

The first Presidential debate was scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012.

Both parties have been on the “preframe trail” trying like crazy to manage everyone’s expectations of the outcome.

Obama says that Romney has a huge advantage because of all the debates he just went through to secure the republican nomination. This is an attempt to make us all excuse his poor performance – if indeed it is poor.

Romney says that Obama has the advantage in the debates because he is the sitting President.

… Romney seen on stage with Obama and on equal footing gives him an advantage. This is not helpful to Obama. I’m sure if Obama had his way, there would not be a debate.

The preframing is very interesting.

The point of what both sides are doing is to manage our expectations. If public opinion is that Obama wins the debate, Romney can say, well sure, he is the sitting president and I had to be respectful of the office. If public opinion is that Romney wins the debate, Obama will say, well of course, he has had tons of practice prior to the debate while I was busy running the country.

On the other hand, if Obama wins, he can say, well, that is why you should elect me again. If Romney wins, he can say, well, now you are seeing why you should elect me because even with the power Obama has as sitting president he has not done the job and can not.

This preframing is pretty much SOP (standard operating procedure) in debates such as this.

The main concern I have is the move towards a dependent, socialist oriented, government centric reality that Obama is promoting.

I for one DO NOT want to end up like Greece. And that is exactly the direction this socialist-in-chief is taking us.

The USA has never been an “entitlement” oriented country. And I do not want to see us continue along this largely socialist (dare I even say, communist) oriented ways.

Health care legislation aside, this has single handedly been the absolute worst president we have ever had. He has done all he can to swell the ranks of those that hold out their hand and take, so they will continue to vote for socialist ways. (and I am not at all against helping those that need help – just want it done responsibly)

If we add up the differences between the two sides they would look like this:

DemoRATS – Socialist leaning, big government, many laws and regulations to impede business, handouts of one kind or another for nearly everyone, “You did not build that” attitude.

Republ-iCAN – Personal responsibility, capitalist leaning, small government, less laws and red tape, belief in small business as means to greater employment, “You DID build that” attitude.

The above is very simplistic and I could expound for pages. The problem is, that in my opinion, both sides are like the left and right arm of the same beast. Chop one arm off, the beast still lives.

While it is very clear to me that the America of our forefathers did not in any way emulate the mass of BS we have now, neither side will bring it back to that level.

There are huge problems with both sides. Yet clearly, one wants to interfere in our lives more than the other – (Dems). One is a serious embarrassment in international affairs (bowing before a king, scandal in the recent TERROR killing of our ambassador – (Dems). And the list goes on.

Yes, it’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t choice in some ways , but it’s clear enough for me. I choose the America of my youth. I choose freedom. And through voting, I choose to throw the current bum out of there. Time to give someone with some real credentials a shot. This needs to be a referendum, not just a choice! We are headed in the wrong direction.

After all, who do you trust – a liberal, activist lawyer or a super successful business person. I’ll take the business person all day long. Either way it’s no guarantee. But Obama has had his turn – he failed.

Nice.

And also have noticed how many more have become bold to show their anti semitism since Obama?  Not just the usa, but also the world.
If someone says something bad about you, say something nice about them. That way, both of you would be lying.

In your heart you know WE are right and in your guts you know THEY are nuts!
