On Wikipedia homepage's On this day...'s section, the first line reads:

"1269 – Louis IX of France imposed a fine of ten livres of silver on Jews found in public without a yellow badge."

This is the first thing I would "like to know" after waking up. >:(

We all know that europe, especially france, have always been antisemitic hellhole. Why not publicizing something else?

I get you here, but I don't see how they are celebrating it...

Wikipedia in general is anti-Semitic. Keep that in mind.

I am not upset they have that. This happened and is in the history books. It doesn't 'celebrate' it but rather it reminds us that they were antisemitic. Chabads 'Today in History' shows many tragedies which have happened to the Jews around the world.
You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
