One of the two Israeli reservists held by Hizbullah for more than a year has died and the other is still alive, the Lebanese daily newspaper an-Nahar reported Saturday.

An-Nahar quoted unnamed German diplomatic sources as saying officials in Berlin tried to obtain from Free Patriotic Movement leader Michael Aoun "some information" about Ehud Goldwasser, 31, and Eldad Regev, 26.

"Aoun refused to get involved in this issue. However, security agencies there understood that one of the two prisoners is still alive and the second had passed away," the report said without further elaboration.

Speaking to The Jerusalem Post an Israeli government spokesman said, "the Israeli government doesn't respond to reports made in the Lebanese media."

Aoun is allied with Hizbullah, which leads a campaign backed by Syria and Iran against Premier Fouad Saniora's majority government.

Meanwhile, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner is expected to discuss the plight of the Israeli soldiers with Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Saturday, according to a report by the Lebanese paper Al Diyar, although no other source has confirmed that a meeting between the two will take place.

Hizbullah had said it was prepared to swap the soldiers for Lebanese and Arab prisoners held by Israel.Print Subscribe

I bet you both of them were drawn and quartered at Hezbollah headquarters (Tehran) shortly after their capture. 

Now, admittedly taking this thread into a tangent, but this story, credible or not, proves what I said for last Ask JTF: that so-called Christian Arabs are Nazis. Michel Aoun, the most prominent Maronite Lebanese politician, and his followers, are all Lebanese Maronite "Christians". The vast majority of Lebanese Christians support Hezbollah with a fervor scarcely less intense than that of their Shiite homebase.

So why then do we so often on this forum lament the alleged sufferings of these Arab beasts who are Muslims in all but name?

A voluntary paramilitary unit of Jews should go out and kill 20 arabs for every day one of our brave young men are being captured by these vermin. If one is found killed, this should be upped to around a hundred for every subsequent day the others are being held captive.
Jews in Israel should be following the tactics of the Ulster loyalist paramilitaries who would hunt down and kill 2 IRA members and/or their supporters for every innocent slain. Instead of killing 2 however, we should be killing at least 20 of them if not more.
Arabs unlike the Irish are cowards, such tactics would expose them for the weak dogs that they are and they would soon get the message that to mess with angry Jews is a big mistake. Israel really needs a Palmach type group these days, Jews with a bit of a spine.
