I want an LED bulb but they are still too expensive.

If they're properly built, they should run continuously for at least 10 or 20 years.

For example this one is unregulated and is rated at 12VDC. I would mount it somewhere and run it off of 10 or 11 volts or with a resistor. It would run forever (well not really).

I suppose you are joking right ? $30 for one light bulb, and it gives you at best HALF the lumens of a 60W incandescent light bulb.

oh you don't have to buy that rigid waterproof one with the magnets. You can get a reel instead.
I was just throwing out an example.
It isn't practical for everyone.
