Just about 15 minutes before you posted this, I was watching CNN about the daily car bomb massacre of today and my sister's Iraqi Jewish friend is over so I was thinking how she is alive because of Israel. I then tried to think if I heard any stories over the past 4 years of Jews being targeted in Iraq and I couldn't think of any. Then I wondered if they are any left there and what their lives must be like and then I come on here and saw your post!
Talk about great timing.
I'm surprised the US government isn't doing more to shelter and protect the religious minorities there. They're giving so many billions of dollars for reconstruction projects, schools, infrastructure, but then the religious minorities are living in fear and in squalor. I imagine that they're not supporting the religious minorities because they don't want to do so because they know that it would inflame the passions of the Sunni and Shia even more.
At least there are some good people there like this man, risking his life for other people.
