I am saddened by this news. One of my ALL TIME favorite TV shows of the 80s-90s was a little known (although a cult classic) show called SCTV. Harold Ramis was a writer and actor in the comedy tv show... His costars all went on to fame and fortune including:

John Candy
Eugene Levy
Joe Flaherty
Martin Short
Dave Thomas
Andrea Martin
Catherine O'Hare









Harold Ramis was born a Jew... I will miss his comedy genious...

I really like the Ghostbuter movies.  I did a review of them on Youtube.  Please check it out.  Harold Ramis also wrote one of my favorite movies, Back To School.

Last name are not the way to determine if someone is Jewish or not. Many Jews have names which 'dont sound Jewish' to many people.

Of course you know that the trait of Jewish comes from the mother, not the father...

Yes, we saw this...he was a real tall guy....worked so well with Dan Akroid, Bill Murray, and the Black fellow to fight the spooks.
