Female Activists in Hevron Report Abuse by Riot Police


(IsraelNN.com) Female activists in Hevron are reporting that not only are female police not being used to remove them, but the male riot police officers have been purposely tearing the clothing off the women.

One activist said that she assumed it was accidental when the pants she was wearing beneath her skirt became pulled down as she was violently removed from the Bar Kochva home. "But when I saw that the same thing was being done to my friends I realized this is some sort of sick tactic."

Similar reports and worse came to light following protests against the uprooting of Jewish communities in Gaza and Northern Samaria in 2005 and the violent eviction at Amona in Februrary, 2006.
