Specially gifted??? That is really stupid, how is it a gift to be mentally retarded? Calling mentally retarded folks "specially gifted" is being disingenuous and patronizing which is frankly insulting.
Just like calling Moochelle oBumma beautiful. I cannot fathom anyone who genuinely thinks she is beautiful. More times than not, if people keep on with something like that it means it isn't true. If people insist "oh, you aren't stupid" or "wow, you look great" and keep on with it, it usually means in reality the opposite is true. And the people saying it are patronizing you thinking "they are too stupid to realize the truth".
