Favorite James Bond Scenes, action, adventure, intrigue...
« on: September 01, 2014, 10:23:03 PM »
Hello,

I have had a nice Labor Day afternoon, spent some time relaxing with some interesting youtube videos.

But last night I was with some friends and we were talking about favorite James Bond scenes. I had said one of the only Movie 'franchises' which I like is the 007 James Bond series.

I will post some of my favorite scenes available from youtube. Any other Bond fans can post their favorite scenes.

From Casino Royale:

Car Chase from Quantum of Solace:

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities
Duet 16:13-14

This ought to satisfy the Bond bug in some of us, a compendium of great Bond scenes.

Bond films always have some of the most dynamic and gripping 'chase' scenes of many action movies. These chases take place on land, in cars, trains, and motorcycles, in the water on speedboats, in the air and under water..

My favorite movie scene EVER! Enjoy!:

''At the siege of Vienna in 1683 Islam seemed poised to overrun Christian Europe.
We are in a new phase of a very old war.''

Shalom christians4jews,

Yes indeed, Casino Royale was quite a flick...

Bond movies also always have dramatic final death scenes, the villain ALWAYS dies...

On a related note... Today the actor who played the character 'Jaws' in several of the bond flicks has passed away.

I am not able to say one way or another just how 'righteous' or what organizations he supported or didn't support, but it is still a sad day for Bond fans...

Quote

We're always sad to report another death, and yet here we go again. Actor Richard Kiel, who stood 7-feet 2-inches tall hailing from Detroit, Michigan, has passed away at age 74. The news comes from TMZ.com (via THR) where they report that he also just broke his leg last week and was in a hospital in Fresno, California where he eventually passed away ("it's unclear if his death was connected to the leg injury"). Kiel is best known as the James Bond villain "Jaws", seen in Moonraker and The Spy Why Loved Me, but he also appeared in various roles or cameos in a number of other films alongside Clint Eastwood, Burt Reynolds and Gene Wilder. He was so tall, it was impossible to miss him. Toss in one of those Bond movies in his memory.

Richard Kiel was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1939. Kiel worked at various jobs including a night club bouncer, a cemetery salesman, before breaking into film & TV in several minor roles in the late 1950s, early 1960s. His appearances/cameos include films like Eagah (1962), The Nutty Professor (1963), Brainstorm (1965), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Silver Streak (1976), The Humanoid (1979), Moonraker (1979), Phoenix (1983), Cannonball Run II (1984), Think Big (1989), The Giant of Thunder Mountain (1991), Happy Gilmore (1996), Inspector Gadget (1999), and a voice in Disney's Tangled (2010), of all things. He wrote an autobiography in 2002 titled "Making It Big in the Movies", and appeared on numerous TV shows.

As a huge Bond fan myself who always loved Jaws, I'm sad to see him go, he was one-of-a-kind. May you Rest in Peace our giant friend. He will certainly be remembered fondly for all of these films, but especially when he gets his girl at the end of Moonraker (spoiler!). Here's a 2009 interview with Kiel at Den of Geek.
