American Rabbi Konstantyn of the Tel Aviv ultra-modern orthodox Tel Aviv Bet El synagogue under fire for allowing use of the synagogue for a low fashion show!

A literal fulfiment of the Germara (Sota 49) that before the Moshiach the Houses of Prayer will become bordellos!

I saw this story and it saddened me that there are Jews in Israel who consider that kind of thing appropriate in a house of worship. What is wrong with these people? They are akin to the Hellenists who brought idols into the Holy Temple. Hashem will be opening the eyes of Jews when his wrath is unleashed. May he spare the righteous.

You shall make yourself the Festival of Sukkoth for seven days, when you gather in [the produce] from your threshing floor and your vat.And you shall rejoice in your Festival-you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow, who are within your cities

I read that the Rabbi did not know this was going to happen.
.   ד  עֹזְבֵי תוֹרָה, יְהַלְלוּ רָשָׁע;    וְשֹׁמְרֵי תוֹרָה, יִתְגָּרוּ בָם
4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked; but such as keep the law contend with them.

ה  אַנְשֵׁי-רָע, לֹא-יָבִינוּ מִשְׁפָּט;    וּמְבַקְשֵׁי יְהוָה, יָבִינוּ כֹל.
5 Evil men understand not justice; but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

It is a very positiive sign that there is outrage over this in Israel.  If this would happen in America, oh ho hum, just another day, and no one would think twice.

Why are they singing Shalom Alechem? Do they think these women are the Shabbat Queen and they didn't want to sing Lecha Dodi? Or is Eshet Chayil sexist?

This seems like what a Deform synagogue would do.

Shalom Alechem is a song which addresses the Malochim (Angels). Maybe they consider these women to be little angels or something...

Quote
The Talmud relates, “Two angels accompany a person on the eve of the Shabbat from the synagogue to his home.” The Sholom Aleichem song greets these Shabbat angels, requests their blessing, and bid them farewell.

Typical for Tel Aviv after all Tel Aviv is the whore house capitol of Israel!!!!!
Also Tel Aviv hosts  a gay pride pride as raunchy as anything in America or Europe so why should this be such  a shock for that vile city?

Apparently Ariel Konstantyn knew, poor sad sod
http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/headlines-breaking-stories/276589/shul-rabbi-was-allegedly-aware-of-the-fashion-show-in-the-tel-aviv-shul.html

I suspect there will be inexorable pressure for the Bet El synagogue to get a new rabbi. The American Konstantyn was very popular, somewhat in the Riskin mould, but also very far from Kahanism

In Israel there are frequent shul snatches/grabs/takeover/putschs, usually by grasping Breslovers or Lubavitchers.

If a synagogue hasn't got a watertight paid-up Amuta registered with the Rasham Amutot - the Non-Profit Society Official Registrar in Jerusalem, the congregants can expect to wake up one morning, find the keys changed, and that synagogue-coveting Breslovers or Chabadniks have take over!

The point here is not obvious. What were they doing wrong? Yes, they were walking immodestly in a line in such a manner as to cause others to look at them, which is done anyways, and they were wearing immodest clothing, which is done anyways. Who is worse, the person who sings shabbos songs in shul with immodest people and calls it a fashion show, or the person who sings shabbos songs with the same thing and calls it maariv? My intuition says, "they are outright making it a fashion show, while other places this happens people bend the rules", but what's worse: a fool or a phony?

The problem is because it's in a synagogue.

It reminds me of when in the 1990's, the Batsheva Dance Company was singing Achad MiYodea while stripping.

It is the issue. What's worse, one cat walk that gets everyone angry and pro-modesty, or daily immodesty that encourages more. For when the wicked thrive like grass...

This one is worse. For sure. At least when some whores in Europe or some place do it its not in Hashems place. This is More than a sin. Its an act.of defiance.

I don't believe they did this with the intent to make G-d angry. I don't really see relevance in the reasons behind it, the daily immodesty is done because girls want guys to be attracted to them and it shows status among other girls, and I can only imagine why the fashion show happened, but probably because they wanted to up attendance, or money.
