JDL, by its nature back in the hay day, was an activist organization that had violent tendencies. Back then, it had its positive effect.
Today, even by Chaim, it's not advised to put good Jews in a situation where they break the law and then go to jail AND not have a recognition by the media. It's a different world today.
I don't know what the right answer is. Apathy is the wrong answer. Being afraid to speak out, is the wrong answer. Demonstrations are nice, but still, the answer?
I think the goal should be convincing people that we are right and at the same time, for Jews like me, who are not religious, learn the religion and understand what it means to be a proud Jew and what a Jew is supposed to be. Otherwise, secular nationalism won't last nor succeed for the Jewish people.
