Israeli food market opening up to imports
« on: March 10, 2016, 06:55:40 PM »
http://www.globes.co.il/en/article-israeli-govt-to-end-dairy-egg-production-quotas-in-2017-1001109180

The ministries intend to approve a plan to end import taxes on all food products alongside the plan to end production quotas for eggs and milk.

This means the Israeli market will be opening up to foreign imports. The price of food will go down, but what would it do to Israeli self sufficiency in case of a war or world boycott?

This little noticed change will have a big effect.

I welcome buying products from Israel...they are organic growers, and vegan as well, use sprouted grains, and foods without pestisides and chemicals....A lot to be learned from Israel....I always buy their products when I can get them.  People want pure foods and pure products without bad chemicals.  Ever read Planet Heal Thyself by Jordan Rubin, or The Makers Diet Revolution....great information for your health.

The thing is all the chickens and cows are fed mostly imported grains so I don't think that the current state can be qualified as self reliance.
