Around 3:00 a.m. on Friday, a large force comprised of police officers, detectives and the Israel Security Agency (ISA, also known as the Shin Bet or Shabak) raided a Yitzhar home to arrest a 15-year-old for violating the terms of an administrative order.

he teen's relatives say that the security forces broke into the home without presenting a warrant, confiscated the parents' phones and refused to let the father escort his son to the police station as required by law for minors.

In addition, the police refused to let the teen take his personal belongings and tefillin.

The youth was served with an administrative order for violence against Palestinians. In an unusual step on Thursday, the head of the Homefront Command told him that he must take up residence in an isolated farm in southern Israel, even though his parents do not know the farm and did not agree to the move.

Major Yizhar Yitzhaki, the head of operations and human rights in the military prosecution, wrote a letter to the boy's lawyer saying that he will receive "a bed to sleep in, food and sanitary services as required" at the farm.

The youth's family was outraged by the treatment, both because they are not familiar with the farm and because no one discussed the issue with them. It is also not clear whether people on the farm have agreed to take in the boy or whether they would do so knowing that his parents object.

"The ISA's Jewish Department's audacity and the arrogance is setting new records," said the father. "To take a 15-year-old child who hasn't done anything and toss him off to an unknown address without coordinating with the family is something done in a democratic country? In the 50s they took Yemenite children in the dark, and now they're trying to remove children from their homes for reeducation in the light of day. The natural place for my son is at home and it's not right that, based on classified information that we have no idea about, he should leave his home."

Chai Bar, the attorney from the legal defense organization Honenu who is representing the youth, sent a response letter in which he stated it's unreasonable to remove a youth from his parents' home and that he is currently not residing at home.

"The attempt to remove the minor to an isolated spot in southern Israel is similar to rogue nations reeducating people. We are trying to explain to the authorities that they can't treat a child like an object and put him wherever they like. His place is in his parents' home. We hope that someone will come to their senses and not limit the minor's rights like this."

The youth is expected to appear in a Petah Tikvah court later today.

On Friday, the Petach Tikva magistrate court (Beit Mishpat Hashalom) ordered the 15-year-old boy from Yitzhar, who was arrested by police at 3 AM that morning, returned to his home.

The judge, Yael Blecher, strongly reprimanded the police for not bothering to even check with the appropriate child welfare services or even knowing what conditions the boy would have in the re-education farm he was being sent to.

The police, unwilling to accept the court’s decision turned to the District Court on Friday afternoon. That judge overturned the ruling, and had the minor sent to jail until Sunday.

Israel’s secret police Shabak, or rather the Jewish Section of the clandestine organization, is losing its marbles, according to legal aid society Honenu. Over the past few days it appeared as if the organization has been taking advantage of the crossover period between old and new defense ministers to get in all its most outlandish decrees, including issuing long lists of names which several rightwing activists are now banned from talking to. As is always the case with those administrative decrees, Shabak need not cite specific charges or even suspicions against their target, nor do the accused get to defend themselves. But a Wednesday decree issued by Shabak truly sounded like part of the mad hatter’s party in Alice in Wonderland.

In its latest administrative decree, a 15-year-old boy has been banned from staying in his parents’ home in the community of Yitzhar, south of Shechem in Samaria. The same boy was also banned from contacting 26 people, including his 12-year-old neighbor.

The Yitzhar boy must be some Jewish extremist, since he’s just come off a 4-month house arrest, by decree of former Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon. But last night police raided his home and presented him with two new decrees, which accuse him of “involvement in violent activity against Palestinians.”

One of the new administrative decrees, signed by OC Central Command Maj. Gen. Roni Numa, bans the boy from entering Judea and Samaria, which includes his parents’ home in Yitzhar. The other order, signed by GOC Home Front Command Maj. Gen. Yoel Strick, compels him to remain under nightly house arrest in his grandparents’ home in the Sharon area, inside the green line. That same decree prohibits contact with his younger neighbor, who must be another Jewish extremist.

“Removing a minor from his parents’ home without a court hearing and without evidence is an exceptionally severe move,” Honenu said in a statement, adding that “the ban on contact with 12- and 13-year-olds shows the Shabak is actually spying on these kids, and that the members of the Jewish Section of Shabak have reached rock bottom. When will someone wake up?”

It should be noted in this context that an Israeli politician strongly identified with rightwing Jews has very recently become defense minister and should be supervising the secret police’s shenanigans. Seeing as the new appointee, Avigdor Liberman, hails from a country with a great tradition of Jews being harassed and tormented by the Jewish Section of the secret police, he might want to put an end to it over in the Jewish State.

It's good to read that even some people from Brooklyn were involved in social media protests for the rights of this kid.

Social media protest: “A Bench for the Yitzhar Minor”
Posted on June 22, 2016 by admin
Wednesday, June 22, 2016, 17:28 Over the past 24 hours the administrative order banning a 15-year old Yitzhar resident from entering Yehuda and Shomron, including his own home, has prompted a social media protest under the slogan, “A Bench for the Yitzhar Minor”. Already dozens of supporters have “reserved” a bench for him close to their homes. See the Facebook page here (Hebrew only, but there is a photo of a bench in Brooklyn).
On the Facebook page appear photos from Netanya, Rosh Ha’Ayin, Haifa, Jerusalem, Migdal HaEmek, Bar Ilan University and more, including Brooklyn, New York. The minor said that he prefers not to leave Israel, but it’s heartwarming to see support from the Diaspora.
Honenu Attorney Chai Haber, who is representing the minor, informed the GOC who issued the order that a suitable location for the minor has not been found and therefore he has been staying at home despite the order ordering him to leave Yehuda and Shomron. Also removing him from his home and school would be a severe violation of his rights and detrimental to his education.
According to the administrative order the minor was obligated to leave his home yesterday, June 21, for a location outside of Yehuda and Shomron in which he could be under house arrest at night, a situation which requires strict police surveillance. If he does not leave of his own accord the GOC will instruct him where to stay.
Two administrative orders were served to the minor on the night of May 31, 2016 during a police raid on his home. As with all administrative orders, they were issued without presenting any evidence and without bringing the youth to trial. The claim against the minor is that he constitutes a danger to the security of the State [of Israel]. It is based on confidential information which indicates his involvement with “disturbances and injury to Palestinians”. By request of his Honenu Attorneys a hearing was held for the minor. However the representative of the Home Front Command refused to specify what the evidence against the minor is or even the dates on which the incidents occurred, which precludes him from giving an alibi.
