One thing I have noticed is that some Liberal Jews are falling for the taqiyya that many Muslims are using on them,  in terms of pretending to be an ally against the Trump Administration.  These Liberal Jews blame one or more segments of what they consider the Right on the overwhelming amount of anti-Semitism in the U.S.   They are in denial of what's going on in Europe and that they are being used as sheep to the slaughter.

This is true.

But it is only one side of the coin. The other side is the modern Protestantism. I think if you interview members of both groups you will not know who belongs where.
I think the cultural power of religion is highly underestimated. This people didn't make their decisions on a rational basis, but on a religious one. It is all about sin, guilt, justification and redemption. Of cause their made up methods will never lead them to rest. It comes even to acts of self-sacrifice. The only thing that this people can do is to surrender to God and stop their attempts to correct Him.
