What kind of "rabbi" gave them a heter to fly on shabbos?
Reform,"Conseravtive",Reconstructionist,Renewal or "Open Orthodox" perhaps?
Maybe the 'rabbi" got his smicha (ordination) from a Cracker Jacks box?
There is absolutely no way anybody can tell me that this is pikuach nefesh!!!!

There are many thousands of converts Israel that are 100% secular, but their conversion is recognized by the Israeli chief rabbinate.  As far as I am concerned if a religious court recognizes this it is valid. If it the issue of shabbat bothers you you should criticize all secular Jews (like myself), don't pick and choose based on political agenda.

I am not doing it on political grounds she calls herself orthodox therefore she should not be travelling on shabbos.
If she was claiming to be secular or non observant it would not be an issue
And no, more is expected of a convert than a born Jew don't convert if you do not wish to observe the rules!!!

Most Israelis are nominally orthodox Jews too, hardly anyone is reform or conservative. Had there no option for spouses to convert, we would be losing even more people to assimilation even inside Israel.

Also regarding Ivanka and Jared- I don't think she is involved in foreign policy or specifically with Israel. It's Jared who is doing the bad work.

They are not the first Jews to fly on shabbos, they won't be the last.
