They didn't mention how he was involved in the struggle to free Soviet Jewry.

while the Forward is a rag the article was written because some FBI files from the late 60's and early 70's were just declassified so that is what they were focusing on

When Jews stop acting like victims and actually do something to defend themselves it makes the power structure uneasy.
