Why did Israel agree to have relations with the UAE?

Israel won't benefit. The only Israelis that will benefit are the self-hating ones that want to do business there or go on vacation there.

Netanyahu is one of the Old Establishment foot soldiers.  Perhaps you just don't recognize it.  Their goal has always been international "Acceptance."
Normalization of relations with Arab nations is the supreme goal everything else must serve.  That means a promise on a piece of paper, embassies and some tourism $$$ flowing in, is enough to put Israel into strategic disadvantage, sacrifice its security and defenses, and sell out the heartland.   Pieces of land are just bargaining chips, not part of the essence of our heritage from God.

It is in the best interest of Israel to establish good relations with the Arab gold states. It's good for the economic prospects for both sides. It is also of strategic importance in the great games that that Iran and Turkey are pulling off.

It is not in strategic interest of Israel or its citizens to strengthen the Fakestinian enemy and continue to shackle the Jewish settlers and settlement outside of the "green line"

Israel agreed to postpone official annexation, not to freeze the settlements. I think we are talking about areas that were supposed to be annexed by the Trump initiative.

Turkey, Iran and Pakistan are very much against it.
