He will learn that Moses was commanded by the Almighty to compel all the inhabitants of the world to accept the commandments given to Noah's descendants.

I took it to what I think he meant was, Jews are not missionaries to tell gentiles to convert to Judaism. However, it is the responsibility of every Jew to save his nation.

I wonder if he has to do a conversion just in case. His mother’s maternal great, great grandmother is a lot of time without Jewish observance.

  similar to a George Soros type of
  scenario except that that would not
  be a situation where one at least
  attempts to become righteous and
  Soros knew that he was Jewish whereas
  apparently this individual did not.
