Have anyone here met some?
Share experiences and thoughts about them.

I have never met muslims that declare they are secular. They may drink alcohol and shave their beard but still think of themselves as muslims.
-
They don't exist.
-
I have known a whole bunch. Not nearly as bad as the Muhammad worshipper hallal eater secretly homosexual ones
-
secular muslims are like anti-hitler nazis. they may claim that they are such, but really arnt.
-
I knew a secular muslim i thought was nice and normal until he told me his grandfather had pickled organs of a british soldier from some previous conflict in either yemen or israel.
-
I have never met any secular Muslims that I know of. I'd love to find out more about them. But to be honest, the religious Muslims I've known have been nice people. But I recognize that it is only because they are isolates where I live and that as their numbers increase, they radicalize like we're seeing in England.

when i was in college i knew muslims that said they were muslims then spent a great deal of time smoking marijuana, getting drunk, and just partying all the time.

I don't think they can be trusted because at the end of the day they still identify themselves with Islam, even if they are not very religious. We all know that Islam is all about hatred and violence, and so by choosing to identify with this religion, regardless of the level of observance, I think that makes the person guilty.
-
Ruby, suppose they want to leave the cult behind them? Many Iranians for example but can't due to the life risk without declaring themselves apostates. Will you as a Christian guide them the way to your messiah's salvation?
Recently, I spoke to my cousin and he says islam makes him sleep. Lol, he does not care about religion.
This is why I made the topic XD

They can stop believing in Islam but not publicly broadcast it in a situation like that where they will be killed. When I think of a secular Muslim, I think of someone more in a Western society where they have the choice to say what they really feel or believe and still choose to identify with Islam and Muslims regardless of their personal level of observance.
Will you as a Christian guide them the way to your messiah's salvation?
I wonder if that's a trick question. If I say yes I'm going to be accused of being a proselytizer by certain members here, and if I say no people will think I don't believe in my own religion. So I will decline to answer that.

I think it should make him feel offended, not sleepy.

I'm a little concerned about this thread and some of the questions in it.

I have a friend who was born in Iraq. He is very American. He married a Catholic lady and they raise their son as Catholic. He is a great guy and if all Muslims were like him the world would look much different and by that I mean better.

He is either doing taqqiyah or is really not a Muslim and is in denial.

Actually the secular Muslims I know are Persians. The ones that are non Persian that I have met show their evil inclination more readily. The Persian ones that I know seemed to me to have a more positive attitude to Jews and Israel...

Maybe it's because they're not Arabs and therefore don't identify with Arab culture. On the other hand, Islam is still a cult/political force/religion of hatred and violence. Even nominally aligning themselves with Islam is a problem.
It's like someone claiming that they're a nominal Nazi, who doesn't actually believe in stuffing innocent Jews into gas chambers or dissecting them to death but likes the uniforms. If someone self-identifies as a Muslim whether secular or devout, that's a problem.
-

Persians have alot of resentment towards other Muslims many have pride in their Persian heritage pre islam and cons8ider Arabs savages. I would venture to guess that a majority of young Persians in Iran WOULD GIVE UP iSLAM IF THEY HAD THE CHANCE
-

I find some to be a bit comical. You can't drink and the black stone is shaped weird. Some seem neutral around Jews, so I gave one an idea about who they are.
They are secular either it sounds too good to be true along boredom or because it's too violent.
-
Religious muslamics are very dangerous, but other apparently secular looking muslamics are even more dangerous. They have long term evil goals.

Why is it possible to believe that Jews and Christians can deemphasize religion in their lives but Muslims cannot?
-
Why is it possible to believe that Jews and Christians can deemphasize religion in their lives but Muslims cannot?
You weren't asking me but I'd like to respond to this. I think that the problem is that secular Jews and secular Christians aren't voluntarily aligning themselves with a philosophy of pure hatred by the association, whereas a Muslim at any level of observance is still a Muslim.
-
Why is it possible to believe that Jews and Christians can deemphasize religion in their lives but Muslims cannot?
Exactly...
There are a number of Muslims who simply are somewhere in the middle or simply do not practice Islam. I'm not saying I would trust them with my life, but not all Muslims are Al-queda. However, the majority of Muslims, in my opinion are religious and believe in imposing Shariah law on all non Muslims. The secular ones do not.
I want to make one other point. Just because a Muslim might be secular doesn't mean he can't be a Jew-hater. Look at Iraq, which was a "secular" nation under Saddam Hussein. And look at Saudi Arabia a religious nation. They are no different in reality. Anti-semitism doesn't have to come with religion.
-

Rubystars keep in mind that there are 1.5 billion Muslims. Out of such a large population you will find almost every imaginable situation. A Dutch woman I spoke with in Israel this past summer told me that the immigrant Muslims in Holland have children who are not religious. They don't feel that they are part of the larger Dutch community so they associate with each other, collect welfare, commit crimes etc but don't really practice their religion. In the case of my friend from Iraq, I have no doubt as to his sincerity. He is more interested in being successful and having a happy life than he is in Islam.
-
Don't they usually end up dead?
-
You need to change the thread name. This should be... JTF thoughts on former Muslims (Apostates). In this case, Former Muslims or former nazis have to DENOUNCE the ideology altogether. Even then, we have to be skeptical, because Islam allows for lying.... but if apostates prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they truly denounce and condemn the ideology, then I applaud them.
-

There is a very strong correlation between Islam and inability to integrate in non-muslim society. The Dutch lady probably doesn't understand Islam and muslim society so she think muslims who don't wear the traditional clothes and grow beard must be secular. But she is dead wrong. The Iraqi man you know seems practically an x-muslim if he let his children be raised catholic (and I hope kept away from muslim nazi relatives if they have any). Which is also strongly correlates to his successful integration.

Speaking as an American born daughter of Iranian Jews, my relatives always refer to Muslim terrorists as "Arabs."
As a child, my mother used to tell me how Iran had an advanced culture, but that the invading Arabs destroyed everything. Another relative once told me that the Islamic revolution of 1979 (?) was basically a second Arab invasion.

I get the same story from my parents as well.

Yes these people are doing the right thing by choosing to leave the death cult behind them.

Dr. Dan, I don't know how old you are but in 1967 Egypt was led by a secular pan Arab nationalist named Nasser, who was one of the most feared and dangerous enemies Israel had. The six day war was a preemptiive strike against Nasser's attempt to destroy Israel and throw the Jews into the sea. My Israeli relatives showed me cartoons from the Egyptian Press at the time with cartoons with blood curdling threats and predictions. Secular pan Arab nationalism was all the rage in the Arab world at the time. Qadaffi was a disciple of Nasser, Syria was a secular nation as was Iraq, as you noted.
The most vicious terrorist group at the time, the PFLP, was Communist in its orientation and led by a Christian Arab. Your point that secular Arabs are not necessarily peaceful Arabs is very well taken.

If he's not interested in Islam he should take that final step and renounce it and no longer self-identify as a Muslim.
The Qu'ran teaches hatred against Jews especially but also Christians and any other non-Muslims. As long as someone self-identifies as "Muslim", even if they don't have a strong belief in it or practice it, they are basically saying those teachings are Ok and they are not offended by them. Level of observance doesn't really matter. They still consider themselves part of that larger philosophy even if they don't actively practice it, until they reject Muslim as a self-identifier they are passively supporting the hatred of non-Muslims by making Islam seem like a legitimate option.

He does still identify as a Muslim, although obviously, it does not dominate his life. During the Iraq War he referred to Saddam as "that SOB" and was heart sick after 911. Someone we both knew (A Jewish investment banker) was killed at the World Trade Center and he actually knew him much better than me and was very affected by it.
He can find positive aspects to Islam, and if you look hard enough you can find them. I have no problem with his attitude. When I told him I was going to Israel he said that was great and would like to go himself sometime with his wife. The point is that as far as I am concerned, he can keep his limited self identification with Islam as long as he does it within the context of opposing terrorism and subjugating other people.
-
There are no secular muslims. Every muslim I've met in my life was a vicious, barbaric, nazi piece of excrement. I've met muslims of different sorts: tatar, chechen, ingush, karachay, arab etc. None of them was a 'secular'. They all were racists and thought of every non-muslim as a 'subhuman'. Believe me!
A Tatar Muslim turned all my friends against me when I was in Junior High School. Another Tatar Muslim was a nazi sympathiser who used to sing a nazi song calling for the genocide against Jews.
A group of Arab Muslims have been spreading lies about me when I was in high school. They were fighting with me when I was outnumbered 1 to 3.
I do not even want to mention my experiences with north caucasians. Everytime they were talking to me, they were referring to slav women as 'whores' and said all slavs are pigs.
Arab Muslims were the worst. If there are some muslims who claim to be 'secular', it is called tagiyya.
-
Sorry to hear your story. SayNo2islam.

He needs to renounce Islam if he doesn't agree with it. Why is that so hard? If you don't believe in something and don't agree with it why keep the title?
He can find positive aspects to Islam, and if you look hard enough you can find them.
Anything positive in Islam was stolen from Jews and Christians. It's main philosophy is one of hatred and violence.
I have no problem with his attitude. When I told him I was going to Israel he said that was great and would like to go himself sometime with his wife.
Israel should not allow Muslim tourism and should do something as soon as possible about expelling the Muslims who live there.
The point is that as far as I am concerned, he can keep his limited self identification with Islam as long as he does it within the context of opposing terrorism and subjugating other people.
By keeping his self-identification with Islam, he is passively supporting their evil. He's telling you "Deep down, I'm one of them" because he refuses to renounce it.

If a Muslim is "secular" then he really isn't Muslim.
-

It's important that he takes the final step and no longer self-identifies as Muslim or he still must be considered to be in sympathy with the jihadists.

What about the Muslims in former Soviet states such as Kazakhstan and Krgzystan?
-
I remember Craig Winn and Chaim discussing the issue of secular Muslims. These secular muslims are considered to be "bad muslims" according to Koran. The good muslims, on the other side, are the ones who blow up things and want to extwerminate every non-muslim.
-

You can't know what they really think until they are out of Muslim-controlled areas and in an environment where it's safer to speak their mind. If they believe in Islam or self-identify as Muslim I will not trust them. If an individual is in a country where there is a reasonable amount of freedom of religion, they should clearly reject Islam.

I would expect that in more secular countries like the former Soviet republics, the Muslims don't take Islam as seriously as they do in Saudi Arabia and Iran. But yes, I agree they should reject Islam.

I'm only 34, but am well familiar that by "secular" muslim that doesn't necessarily mean not Jew-hater either. Same goes with the Turks.
When I think of true secular Muslims I mean the ones who were born into a Muslim family but do not identify with Islam in any way. Or for that matter, the ones who happen to identify with Islam, but in a superficial way in the sense that they pray to Gd and follow Hallal, but are not political and just live their lives...There are some in that category who are not Jew haters like Al queda type Jew haters..many of them will not know any better about history..and I definitely would not trust my life with those types of Muslims anyway.

I notice that muslims new to the US that the majority are definitely Jew haters even if they are "secular".

Touchy subject. A lot of them actually work in Jewish hospitals in the Holy Land. I believe there are some out there that are not frum Muslims...similar to the self-hating Jews who try to kill their own people.
-
This is no such thing as a moderate Muslim or moderate Islam. The Qu'ran is pure evil and if they identify with that in any way they are guilty regardless of their perceived level of observance.

Can you come to New york city and convince that to the Indonesian neighbors? I will give you a medal and a prize.
It is scary because Indonesians make up the world's largest muslim nation as it historically was a Hindu nation. I tried to reason with one of them, I told them it's filled with many errors, contradicts archaeology findings, they follow a false prophet, and it is a waste of humanity's time.
In fact, one of them messaged me the other day on facebook about this issue, but she really likes me. XD

I think you should ask them if they know the kinds of atrocities Mohammed committed and whether or not they agree with them. You should also ask them if in the end times if rocks and trees will betray Jews hiding behind them and call for the faithful Muslims to kill them. Also ask them if the men are going to enjoy the "pearls" for their pleasure in the afterlife, or if they consider that ok along with Mohammed's own pedophilia with Aisha.
-
I tried the first suggestion a year ago to the girl I told you about. Her response was "I will always be a muslim"
Going further will make the truth bleak to her and her family.
I told them I'm not forcing them to leave their islam, but research facts about their own history at least and see what this cult has done to the world like in India when the muslims invaded and massacred 80 million Hindus and Buddhists, destroyed their holy sites and to this day are still killing them.
Instead, she subscribes to the crap about all the prophets were muslim and all the fairy tale BS. I also informed her family that Indonesia was a Hindu nation along her ancestors and they did not believe it.
We need the Moshiach to eliminate this pathetic cult and bring peace to the world nations. Either that, or dump the muzzies to the arctic ocean and let them freeze to prevent all these mass killings.
-
In what way does she really like you
Like brother and sister. Known her since she was a 8 y/o and now wants to reunite with me.
Her big sister is the one I liked to get a relationship out from but that's a no go since I told her I left islam. Their family used to serve me meals.

Yeah my story is in the poster thread. I found this site through watching Chaim ben videos on youtube. It made sense from a neutral point of view. So I saw one of his videos making a speech about these atrocities happening in many continents around the world. Christians are persecuted, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Atheists, etc. Days went by, the video got flagged off youtube by some users. This is when I decided to join Jtf in the fight against global islamization and support zionism.
I'm relying on Judaism to stop islam.

Thx, always been non-religious. Now an ounce more religious with the Seven laws. Too risky to convert anyway.

בס''ד
Yasser Arafat, Saddam Hussein, Bashar Assad, and Abdul Gamel Nasser are all examples of secular Muslims.
The secular Muslims of the PLO and Fatah have murdered far more Jews than the religious Muslims of Hezballah and Hamas.
If someone identifies as a Muslim, they are identifying with a Nazi religion that calls for genocide against all non-Muslims.
If someone disagrees with the genocidal commands of Mohammed in the Koran and the Hadith, then they are not a Muslim. It is not like a Jew who is secular and does not accept the Torah. A secular Jew is still a Jew because the Jews are a people. Muslims are not a people, they are a religion. If you reject the teachings of the Muslim religion, you are not a Muslim.
Of course, there are Muslims who are "nice" and "polite" because it is in their interest to act that way. But if there is a war between Israel and the Muslim world, you can be sure that they side with their fellow Muslims. So they are siding with the purveyors of genocide and holocaust.
The Iranians fanatically supported Khomeini and the Muslim terrorist Nazis for decades. But now some of the younger Iranians are suffocating under the oppressive and corrupt rule of the ayatollahs and mullahs. They do not oppose the Iranian regime because of moral concern over the regime's desire to perpetrate a holocaust against Israel. On the contrary, many opponents of the regime support the nuclear-bombing program. But they want more freedom and opportunity for themselves. This does not make them moral or good people. If their personal lives were freer and more prosperous, they would be supporting the genocidal goals of the regime as they did for decades.
In conclusion, the only good Muslim is a former Muslim.
-

How did you discover noahidism

I tried the first suggestion a year ago to the girl I told you about. Her response was "I will always be a muslim"
Going further will make the truth bleak to her and her family.
There's nothing wrong with truth. I think she's made her choice though. She has chosen to follow the teachings of a murderous pedophile and self-identify as his follower. This is an evil choice that she's made of her own free will.
I told them I'm not forcing them to leave their islam, but research facts about their own history at least and see what this cult has done to the world like in India when the muslims invaded and massacred 80 million Hindus and Buddhists, destroyed their holy sites and to this day are still killing them.

Maybe they're afraid to face the truth but if they are going to ever choose to be good people then rejecting Islam and its evil teachings is a prerequisite to that.
We need the Moshiach to eliminate this pathetic cult and bring peace to the world nations. Either that, or dump the muzzies to the arctic ocean and let them freeze to prevent all these mass killings.
Muzsicles, well that's one way they can be made 'good'. :::D
-
Btw, why are there self-hating Jews?
-
The only good muslim is an extinct muslim.
-
Btw, why are there self-hating Jews?
We could spend forever talking about this phenomenon.
I think that it stems from leftism.... Jews wanting to prove to the world that they are 'tolerant' and 'progressive'. The same thing exists with gentiles... but maybe not quite as extreme.
Its a mental disorder for sure.

How did you discover noahidism
Short story: it is Christianity introduced me to Judaism and Noahide laws. I researched about Christianity for some time being it branched from Judaism, I found that Jesus was raised a Jew, the OT is the First Five books of Moses, Christians believe Jews received the Torah from the creator and Muslims for that matter, and it seems logical Christians automatically believe in the first monotheistic faith.
Turn downs I could not accept Christianity are incomplete/lost written gospels, non-existent kosher laws and idolatry. Sorry fellow Christians

I think its great that you found something to fill the void. The only thing I would suggest for you is to try to surround yourself with likeminded people.

Thx again. you see that is the difficult part finding common like minded people when family is involved in my situation.
Forgot to add, rabbi Yosef Mizrachi convinced me to Judaism with his lectures. If it wasn't for him, I don't think I would become a Noahide.

BTW the recent slaughter of 74 Muslims by their fellow Muslims at a soccer game in Egypt is another example of the barbaric behavior of "secular" Muslims. All of the brutal killers at that soccer game were secular Muslims.
Conclusion? Islam breeds a culture of murderous cruelty, jealousy and barbarism among both devout believers and non-observant Muslims.

However, can it be argued that secular muslims raised in American culture are barbaric as well? Certainly all over the Middle East and Africa you have this type of insanity amongst all muslims who are secular or religious.

This all comes back to whether or not they actually truly 'Leave' Islam.
If a boy were raised in the third reich, and then came to the US after WWII... would he be considered a friend or an enemy?
That all depends upon weather he leaves/denounces Naziism.... But If he says he's not a 'practicing' Nazi... that is not good enough... He has to go another step further and denounce it altogether.... otherwise... he is not to be trusted.

Yeah ironically they were secular Muslims..
Upbringing societal issues?
