From the article: A jarring 44% of it's citizens are prejudiced or hostile toward Jews- from a research study by the Italian Parliament.
All I have to say is: Half of Italy hates us.
The other half don't hate us that much. lol
Jews get out of Italy. We don't belong there!!

I didn't like hearing it either. But it is what it is. Jews should get out of there. And let Italy rot.

I have some people who are extremely dear to me and who are also Jewish; and the are living in Italy..... it makes me upset and worried.

They should be alright. Probably better off there than in Israel. Did you the video of Arabs throwing big rocks at Jewish cars, trying to kill the drivers? And the Jewish government lets the Arabs get away with it.

And what percentage of Jews are self hating?......judging by the Jews in Manhattan, I'd say more than 56% wouldn't you all agree?

I dont think so.... What kind of comment is that? Even if there are a lot in NY it is wrong to say this without some poll to back that up...
I'm sorry ItalianZionist but there was a post I made which was removed which just demonstrated how evil the Italian nation has become. There are mainstream media outlets which are supporting Holocaust denial. The level of antisemitism in Italy will not be tolerated.

Italian Daily: Holocaust "The Greatest Lie of Modern Times"
Robert Faurisson sparks an uproar with a blatantly anti-Semitic article in an Italian gov't funded newspaper.
By Giulio Meotti
First Publish: 3/2/2012, 1:14 AM
"The Greatest Lie of Modern Times”. This is how French scholar Robert Faurisson defined the Holocaust in an article published this week by the Italian daily Rinascita, a leftist national newspaper financed by Italy’s government.
Faurisson’s essay sparked an uproar after Rome's Jewish community denounced the state-funded newspaper for denial of the gas chambers.
“The general belief on the part of the Western world is that ‘the Holocaust’ has long been the sword and shield of Zionism”, writes Faurisson. “But today Revisionism is putting this belief in peril”, he concluded.
Faurisson first appeared on the scene in the 1970s and he is now known as “the dean of deniers”. Arab and Iranian “experts” on the Holocaust frequently cite Mr. Faurisson’s theories. He is quoted in the 1982 doctoral dissertation written by Mahmoud Abbas, the PA’s President.
When Iran's Ahmadinejad described the Holocaust as “a myth”, Mr. Faurisson sent him a letter “expressing full support for his remarks”. The letter was heralded in the Iranian press.
Faurisson’s latest essay raises the awareness of rampant anti-Semitism in Italy, where a jarring 44% of citizens are “prejudiced or hostile towards Jews”, according to a research study released by the Italian Parliament just last autumn.

In November 2008 in Rome, a Holocaust-denying high school teacher was suspended. Several days ago, on the eve of the Remembrance Day events, an Italian judge condemned a journalist who denounced as anti-Semitic a cartoon, entitled “Fiamma Frankenstein”, depicting Italian MP Fiamma Nirenstein, who is Jewish, with a hooked nose, the symbol of fascist Italy and the Star of David.

I think it was my fault Muman. I made a derogatory statement. And I apologize if I offended anyone. I'm part bohemian please forgive me.
-
This is higher than I assumed, but it can be partially explained:
1) Italy is still somewhat brainwashed from their fascist history.
2) Italy is the center of the catholic church, which has been overtly hateful of Jews up until recently and still has this sentiment
3) Italy has a growing Muslim population
4) Italy is increasingly socialist and is following the path of Greece... which unfortunately leads to wacko banking conspiracies involving zionism/jews.
So the mix of these 4 are toxic.
However 44% is shockingly high.... Thats higher than France or Spain I believe.
-
I'm not offended. I understand that the vast majority of Europe is antisemitic. But come on, you have to admit that its very feasible that most liberal Jews in Manhattan (and the US) are self hating. Just how many Jews voted for Barack Husein Obama ?...The vast majority ...that's how many. ...see the article below or ask Chaim, he'll tell you. So when you look for antisemitism in other nations, it's good to also look at the Jewish people as whole as well:

Europe as a continent is Nazi. The Middle East is extremely Nazi. Africa is largely Nazi (of the jealous negro type). Asia is largely Nazi (of the brainwashed commie type). Latin America is largely Nazi (of the jealous third world and pre-Vatican II Catholic type).
I refer you to my thread, "yimach shemo to the world". Really, there is nothing good about it.

Recent polls show that a large majority of white Americans have positive views of Jewish People and I think about only 8% of have negative views. I can't remember the exact numbers, I got them from Larry Elders.
But also, many in the non-muslim 3rd world aren't Nazi's. They are just ignorant.
I contrast this with the Muslim world that are fixated by Jew Hatred, and where Mein Kampf is second in popularity only to the Koran.

This a nonsensical post. In WWII, Mussolini told Hitler that not one Jew of Italian citizenry would be delivered to Germany for transport to the concentration camps. It wasn't until the Mussolini government fell in 1943 and Germany occupied Italy outright that deportation of Jews occurred. That was the same for Spain's Franco and Portugal's Salazar, the other two Fascists of Western Europe, who were NOT antisemites and did not give up one Spanish or Portuguese Jew up to Hitler, respectively, and allowed French Jews who crossed the Pyrenees to remain there in safety for the remainder of the war.

Tell me what part of Europe as well as the UK is any better when it comes to being two faced... England's treatment of the Jews is not much better post WW2 to the present day.... The Italian Government for all it's faults during the war did not turn over it's Jewish citizens to Hisler.

A lot of people are headed for hell if they don't change their minds
-
I'm wondering how the Italian Parliament came up with this, what did they do sit around and say lets take a poll?
The problem with some of you people is that you read one article from someone who is trying to make a name for himself and keep his job and you believe it.
It seems to me when something is written about the Jewish people being treated badly you people lose your senses and just believe anything.
As soon as a handful of people say something bad the whole country is bad, give me a break.

the evil leftist media is to blame.

Walter Wolff
Walter Wolff tells the neglected story of how the Italian people courageously expressed their basic humanity and goodness despite the Nazi opposition. Walter's youthful innocence died during the rioting of Kristallnacht. After an unlikely release from Dachau, his family fled to Italy. There he survived time and again because of the willingness of strangers to risk their lives on his behalf. Now living in New York, Walter is much sought after lecturer on the Holocaust. His survival in Italy taught him what is his closing refrain after every speech. " You should love thy neighbor as thyself." Through all his travels Mr. Wolff kept a remarkable collection of photographs and official documents which give his narrative a chilling sense of reality.
"Walter Wolff has written a narrative that embodies one man's belief in God, family, and the godness of the common person in the midst of history's worst nightmare. His story chronicles the refusal of the ordinary Italian citizen to participate in the Final Solution, which was in stark contrast to their counterparts in Germany and occupied Europe, This wonderful book explodes the Nazi Myth of universal acquiescence to the Final Solution. The Torah states: "He who saves one life, saves the world." Eighty-five percent of Italian Jewry survived the Holocaust because of people who had the courage to care. Mr. Wolff is a coraugeous, witty, and resourceful man. His adventure resemble a circus highwire act where one miscalculation could be fatal. The author weaves a tale of action and intrigue which leaves the reader with a sense of exhilaration. Mr. Wolff is a man with an indominable spirit who personifies the quality of courage, optimism, resourcefulness, and a love for all mankind. His narrative should be required for young and old alike." -Vincent E. Marmorale, New York State Order Sons of Italy in America
"Walter Wolff eloquently relates the story of his survival and triumph over the Nazis. He has masterfully transformed the pain and suffering he has endured into a message of hope, tolerance and faith for future generations to cherish. Mr. Wolff continues to live and breathe his past by integrating his unique life experiences into an ever blossoming tomorrow." -Dr. Chaim Wakslak, Rabbi, Young Israel of Long Bach
The Italian and Jewish communities of St. Louis found a common link in Walter Wolff, a savvy and likeable retiree from Long Island (N.Y.) who came to promote his book “Bad Times Good People” and to recount his past as survivor from Dachau, saved by an entry visa to Italy and by the humanity of Italians encountered during the dark days of the war and the military occupation. By arrangements of the Consulate General of Italy in Chicago and the midwest office of NIAF (National Italian American Foundation), the Italian community of St. Louis (Missouri) welcomed Walter Wolff, a former detainee in the concentration camp of Dachau, who, together with his mother and brother obtained an entry visa to Italy from an Italian Consul in Germany. Other countries, including the United States, had refused such visa request. Walter Wolff who was born in Aachen in 1917 and who lived in Frankfurt until the eruption of anti-Semitism (Cristalnacht) is the author of a collection of memories by the meaningful name of “Bad Times Good People” from which half a century later his life as a war refugee in Italy comes to light, at first in Genova and later in various sites of internment and controlled residence (Campagna, Ferramonti, Casale Monferrato, Ponte Chiasso e Milano) all of which were stops of a precarious voyage toward survival, reached with great courage and creativity but mainly thanks to the humanity of many Italian men and women, common citizens, but also clergy and police officers who in direst moments risked their own lives by helping the Wolff family escape arrest and deportation to the Reich’s lagers. In St. Louis, on June 6, 2001, at a meeting organized by “Italiano Per Piacere” www.ItalyStl.com, a unique forum in the United States for the cultors of the Italian language, Walter Wolff recounted his life of racial prosecution in Italy during the war and under the enemy’s occupation, and of his fortunate employment with AGIP of Milano under the fictitious name of Valter Monti up until he met his wife to be, Vittoria Fubini, at the end of April in 1945 and subsequent emigration to New York in 1947. The following evening, June 7, 2001, the Italians in St. Louis accompanied Walter Wolff to a meeting with the local Jewish community for a conference, this time in English, at the “Jewish Holocaust Museum” of Missouri. During the two days in St. Louis the aging survivor gained the admiration of all of those who were able to get close to him and to appreciate his composed and coherent remembrance of a painful past, overcome by a series of fortuitous and providential circumstances. His audience appreciated his exceptional humanity and his exhortation to fight any form of prejudice and racial discrimination as well as his gratitude for all Italian men and women who risked their own lives to help him , according to the biblical precept of do unto others… Walter Wolff is a member of the Social Justice Committee of the “Order Sons of Italy” in New York. before entering Italy, we had to apply for affidavits which would take the place of a
passport. Finally, in June 1947, we received our affidavits, which fortunately had low quota numbers, and we were free to immigrate to the United States. We were ecstatic over the prospect of finally leaving Europe. But we very much regretted leaving Italy. The Italians viewed the Jews as human beings rather than “enemies of the Reich,” and they treated us well during the war. Italy was also a beautiful country blessed with picturesque vineyards, fresh sea breezes that drift in from the Mediterranean, and breathtaking mountains. The Italian people provided the ingredients for Italy’s inner beauty...

I removed your earlier post. The post was offensive to Italians.
There are many anti-Semites in every country for a variety of reasons:
*Envy: The Jews are the people of the Bible, and G-d repeatedly describes them in the Bible as the Chosen People. Righteous Gentiles who read this in the Bible want to support the Jews, because they want to do G-d's will and bring final redemption to the world. But most people are not righteous. Most people see the incredible success, talent and influence of this tiny Jewish nation and are filled with hatred and resentment. Actually in Judaism, Righteous Gentiles have the promise of eternal life in the next world. So this envy of the Jews is absurd. But everyone has free will. Unfortunately, throughout history most have chosen evil.
*Anger at G-d: People cannot fight with G-d. So they take out their frustrations in life on His people. They turn the Jews into scapegoats for their own shortcomings.
*Contempt: Many Jews are self-hating and behave in an immoral manner. This causes a lot of Gentiles to identify Jews with Hollywood, the news media, the universities, giant corportations etc. This is actually a difficult test that G-d has created for the Gentiles. G-d commands the nations to bless the Jews and support the Jews, and yet many Jews are themselves self-hating anti-Semites. The self-hating Jews are not lovable people. They cause a great deal of anti-Semitism.
I could go on in listing the many other causes.
However, to single out Italians was offensive in my view. Especially considering that Italian Americans should be natural allies for rightwing Jews. If you want to criticize something Italy has done, fine. Every nation has its sins. But a generalized attack on Italians is going too far.
-
I agree completely, Chaim. All people suck but I don't see why Italians (especially those in Americans) are particularly sucky.

Yet I did not attack Italians in any way. I simply said, as you Chaim must admit you have said many times, that a people or a nation which oppresses its Jews will get what it deserves Middah Keneged Middah. You saw what was written in the Italian media, and there is no outcry except from the Jewish community, that denies the Holocaust.
I think that saying that Italy deserves judgement because of its evil is not any more offensive than saying that Japan deserved the earthquake, which I believe you yourself Chaim have said many times.
Well, its your call Chaim... But I don't quite understand why it is ok in one case, and not ok in another...

Thanks for removing the post Chaim! The vast majority of Italians or people of Italian descent I know are very good people. And I bet that 44% is based on a very small sample size.

Yet you supported damning the Japanese with the earthquake...
I don't recall Italy trying to sell uranium to Iran even though my heart did go out to a lot of the victims of the earthquake in Japan.
-
Indeed there are many good Italian people. But the government has permitted this attitude of denial of the Holocaust.
My post simply stated that there will be judgement against them for this. As you taught in the Parasha where Dina was raped by Schem, that those who permitted such an act were judged very harshly...

Yet you supported damning the Japanese with the earthquake...

Right before the earthquake, Japan was about to sell nuclear reactors to Muslim terrorist Iran. G-d put an end to that business deal. The Japanese didn't care about Israel facing the threat of nuclear radiation, and so G-d gave the Japanese a taste of nuclear radiation as a result of the earthquake damaging their nuclear reactors. You bet they deserved it.
The Italian anti-Semites who deny the holocaust are as cursed as any anti-Semites from any nation. But there are also Italians who support Israel, including Italian Americans.

I am upset by the recent spate of articles on A7 which highlight the rise of antisemitism in Italy. There are two Italian writers for op-ed pieces on Israel National News editorial staff and both are indicating that the antisemitism is something to be concerned with.
