Trump adds fourth Goldman Sachs exec to his administration

After Trump claimed that Goldman Sachs had “total control” over Ted Cruz and Hillary Clinton, he makes Goldman Sachs a huge part of his own administration – and his supporters don’t seem to care one bit.

President-elect Trump on Thursday added a fourth Goldman Sachs alum to his administration, announcing that he has picked Dina Habib Powell to be senior counselor of economic initiatives in the White House.

Powell is currently the head of impact investing at the Wall Street giant, and president of the Goldman Sachs Foundation. She had previously worked at the State Department and served as assistant to the president for presidential personnel under President George W. Bush.

In her new role, Powell will focus on promoting entrepreneurship and small business growth and empowering women in business through policy and administration initiatives.

“Dina Powell is a tremendous talent and has a stellar record of public service as well as a great career in the private sector,” Trump said in a statement. “She has been recognized for her strategic oversight of key programs and initiatives and is a leader in both economic growth and the crucial empowerment of women in various aspects of business development and entrepreneurial endeavors.”

Trump has also picked Goldman alum Steve Bannon to be a senior adviser to him in the White House, former Goldman Sachs partner Steven Mnuchin for Treasury secretary, and outgoing Goldman Sachs president Gary Cohn to be his top economic adviser.
