Israel is doing well but probably not well enough to qualify. England is in their group and is very close to qualifying. Croatia has already clinched their division. They only take two from each of the 7 divisions, plus the host country, and I think one other is guaranteed.

Israel did a nice job with this victory.  Unfortunately, it is too late to qualify.  They certainly did England a major favor.  Maybe the English will actually take it easy on the Jews and the new Jewish coach for Chelsea Soccer (Avraham Grant) for a little bit, but I tend to doubt it.

Israel did a nice job with this victory.  Unfortunately, it is too late to qualify.  They certainly did England a major favor.  Maybe the English will actually take it easy on the Jews and the new Jewish coach for Chelsea Soccer (Avraham Grant) for a little bit, but I tend to doubt it.

We both know Grant came out of nowhere to get the job (friends with the owner).

Also, if he wants respect, he has to win.

I agree he came out of nowhere, but that's life.  Almost everywhere people move ahead not on merit, but because of connections.  Sure, he has to win, and he has done a reasonable job so far, but the abuse he received upon his upon his appointment, especially the anti-semitc undertones, was not warranted.  As for the owner, he can essentially do whatever he wants with the team.  He put up a ton of cash to buy the club and has paid a ton for players as well.  As a fan of the team, that's really all you can ask for.
