That's not really a benefit, considering that you can get Windows Vista for free as well.  I think that much of the "benefit" of using Linux is the feeling of superiority and expertise that it brings to its users.  I can't see any practical benefit from using Linux, in fact is gives many practical disadvantages.

The "stable" OS myth is bogus.  I've used multiple laptops both running on XP and Vista and there has been no instability to speak of.  The current laptop I have which runs on Vista is solid as a rock, there's no need to waste your money with a Mac OS system, the benefit is mostly hype.

Im terrible with computer and use Linux. it has no disadvantages. An windows programs can be run with Win4Lin, a free software.  I previously had windows vista, and had to wipe my drive twice because of a faulty OS

Hey, hey, I was going to buy myself
an expensive 24" screen Imac Intel,
thinking it was exceptionnal, concerning bugs, spams,
and other such common things on a windows....
But, I had the opportunity to work on both of them,
Imac and Windows, and I can assure you
that the Imac does crazy things also,
which ones, I can't remember very well,
since this occured in june/july 2007.

A friend of mine, who's webmaster,
told me that Imacs get into troubles
(almost) as often as a Windows.
His father was a journalist,
and had an Imac. My friend was fed up
with the troubles the Imac got into constantly.

I'm so glad I didn't buy an Imac,
EXPENSIVE, and as "troublable"
as any Windows System...

In 1500, the Polish Treasury books make reference to hussars. Early on, they were foreign mercenaries, and were called Racowie from "Rascia" a word meaning "of Serbia." They came from the Serbian state of Ras."

time changed.

my laptop has a trackpad to right-click/scroll just by using both index/middle finger, and clicking with 1 finger.
Mouses are conected via USB or bluetooth, and have 4 buttons and vertical and horizontal scroll.

i have a G5 , and a macbook.

The MacBook is a bit less quality than the MacBookPro.

I'd buy a desktop-model instead of iMac. They are real good computers. MacPRo/G5/G4

I think a laptop of 1000-3000 $ and a desktop of 2500-16.000$ is a bit expensive, but for my work it is better than PC.

I use Fedora Core 4 at work for my server, needs to be updated, I use FreeBSD on my dedicated servers.

Linux is more stable than Windows for server use, no GUI (option to) means less use of memory and CPU, no worries of memory leaks, less exploits out there (though they exist), and i've had a uptime of 330 days without a reboot.
