I use Fedora Core 4 at work for my server, needs to be updated, I use FreeBSD on my dedicated servers.

Linux is more stable than Windows for server use, no GUI (option to) means less use of memory and CPU, no worries of memory leaks, less exploits out there (though they exist), and i've had a uptime of 330 days without a reboot.

I think that's great. Reboot once a year...
Turkey must get out of NATO. NATO must get out of Kosovo-Serbia. Croats must get out of Crajina. All muslims must get out of Christian and Jewish land. Turks must get out of Cyprus. Turks must get out of "Istanbul". "Palestinians" must get out of Israel. Israel must become independent from USA.

Linux is a nice O.S. and it NEVER EVER freezes, but I would never in my right mind suggest it to someone who doesn't have a specific purpose already in mind for it.

If you don't want to give to Bill Gates, then download a Pirated Windows XP.  If you are too moral to do this, then buy a MAC.

AMD is better, but Macs switched to Intel chips which are also pretty good.

AMD is better by far in speed?   Macs have Intel chips? Does intel mean pentium? so macs have the same chips as pentium4? thnx

8-core processing
Two 3.0GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5300 series processors
Intel Core microarchitecture
8MB of L2 cache per processor (16MB total; each pair of cores shares 4MB)
128-bit   SSE3 vector engine
64-bit data paths and registers
Energy efficiency optimization
1.33GHz, 64-bit dual independent frontside buses
Quad-core processing
Two 2.0GHz, 2.66GHz, or 3.0GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon 5100 series processors
Intel Core microarchitecture
4MB of shared L2 cache per processor (8MB total)
128-bit   SSE3 vector engine
64-bit data paths and registers
Energy efficiency optimization
1.33GHz, 64-bit dual independent frontside buses
Memory
667MHz DDR2 ECC fully buffered DIMM (FB-DIMM) memory

for mac it is the only desktop.
I think you can buy Windows / UNIX /Linux machines with the same specs, but the price tag, normally isn't lower than mac.
