Japanese accuse Russians of seeking secrets

The Russian embassy in Tokyo has dismissed a police report that alleged a Japanese official had leaked classified information to Russia.

Japanese police have said a Cabinet research official had divulged information on Japanese foreign and domestic policy to an official of the Russian embassy in Tokyo.

The police said documents proving his guilt would be sent to prosecutors.

The Russian Embassy's press attache described the allegation as regrettable and called the allegation a slur on Russia.

The police said the alleged informant provided secret information, and frequently met with an embassy employee in 2007.

Japan's Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda has said that tough measures would be taken over the incident.

Relations between Russia and Japan have for many years been complicated by the contested ownership of the Kuril Islands.

The dispute, simmering for over 60 years, has kept the two countries from signing a formal peace treaty after World War II.

As I said, communism in China is worse tha Japan today.
What the Japs did in WWII was horrible, but frankly King Leopold II of Belgium did the same to Congo e.g.
he was responsible for 10mln deaths, and millions of amputated limbs, in order to boost the production of Rubber.

I respect Japan, I think what they did in World War II is messed up. Japan is pretty anti-war today (but for different reasons, not because what Japan did to China). Korea and China still seem to have a lot of hate for Japan and cannot blame them but China is a bigger threat to us than Japan. Plus I like my anime, sushi, and electronics too much which are all made in Japan. I won't buy Chinese crap though it's hard to avoid it since even Japan is starting to outsource now.

Actually in Hitlers Mein Kampf, he specifically states that the Japanese copy European inventions and I believe referred to them as inferior which is why i'm quite surprised that he allied with Japan. While Japan may have been fascist, they did not have Nazi policy put in place (a number of Jews fled to Japan and came in from Lithuania and were allowed to stay there. Government did not have anti-semitic policies put in place and attempted to create a Jewish homeland in Manchuria though this was moreso to benefit Japan rather than the Jews. Never the less, probably a better solution than living in Nazi Germany at the time. However we cannot forget what Japan did to America or Australia or other countries in the region.
