Game: The Knesset
« on: February 10, 2008, 12:01:38 AM »
The Knesset is an online simulation game in which players can take the role of a member of the Israeli Knesset and adopt all of their responsibilities. The game is very detailed; members of the coalition will have to cooperate to respond to stories published in the news, while simultaneously meeting their responsibilities in the Knesset committees, passing laws, fulfilling the responsibilities of their ministries, and discrediting the opposition parties. Anything could happen during the course of the game - from a small earthquake to a full-scale Middle-East war, in which the government (made up of many individual players) will control every aspect of the State of Israel, including its military, foreign relations and economy.

Alternatively, if you don't want to take the role of any existing Knesset members, you can create your own political party and attempt to gain seats in the next election.

Hey,

You obviously won't be banned from my forum for creating the Kach party, I have no problem with it. But, keep in mind that in this game Israeli laws are still valid. Therefore, creating the Kach Party will be allowed, but you likely will be barred from participating in Knesset elections by the Israeli Central Elections Committee (As Kach was in real life). Therefore, I suggest that if you want to play a Kach-style party you make its intention to expel Arabs less explicit (like the Arab parties avoid explicitly stating they are anti-Zionist, even though everyone knows they are). Alternatively you might be able to reach some sort of agreement with a right wing government to get rid of that provision altogether.

I want to start The HaYamin HaAmiti Party. That is JTF's Hebrew name.

That will be fine. Just be careful what you say in public or your party might be banned from the Knesset like Kach was.

Guys, lets not start five separate political parties, lets only have one with a governing board and everyone will have a specific role, treasurer, party spokesman, youth leader etc.

Ah! Its nonsense to me. Just a make believe game with the same leftist crazy rules.
I bet the people playing the game are a self-hating as the real secular knesset members.

Please, no disrespect intended. I hope I didn't offend anyone.

Those are the same challenges faced by Kach and Hayamin HaAhmiti and so on in Israel today, are they not? The game is meant to be a simulation of the Israeli political system, so naturally it is going to be difficult for Kach to get into the Knesset.

That's right. The game isn't intended to change the world, it's just something you can do in your spare time for fun.

hehe, i think there's going to be a LOT of applicants for that department.
BT, have you signed up yet, if so, what is your name?

So, Hayamin party members, I would like to welcome Tzvi as our Party Leader. Tzvi, on the game, you should propably make a thread announcing everyone's departments. ( that is, if that is how it's done-im not sure exactly how the game works yet hehe)

before we start dividing the spoils we should concentrate on winning elections, both in the real world and this game, then we can work out who gets what

we can make a list of people from this forum who will join, and then we can assign each their position (depending on who and how many we can get).
